上海旅遊觀光的人也是越來越多，而來了上海卻沒有去過外灘的人實在是鳳毛麟角了，甚至有些老外也紛紛慕名而來，用他們的話來說，其中原因不外乎這幾點：一，外灘保有了許多解放前的老建築，那些

建築風格各異，頗具異國情調，被稱為「萬國建築群」;二，而在老建築的對面則是一大片的現代建築：東方明珠電視塔、國際會展中心、金茂大廈還有初露面目的環球金融大廈一覽無余。在外灘游覽時，漫步於黃浦江畔，在人的兩邊風景迥然兩異,一邊是撲面而來的歷史滄桑，另一邊是呼之欲出的時尚氣息，讓人彷彿穿越了時空，感慨上海發展變化之巨大。在外灘觀景人們普遍傾向於夜間游覽，因為每當夜幕降臨，兩岸的建築都被燈光所點亮，亦幻亦真，頗具朦朧感。

不過在我這個有十多年歷史的老上海看來外灘的景色似乎也不怎麼樣。首先，一條黃澄澄的黃浦江就徹底打破了美感，估計黃土高原那兒的河也要比它清澈不少。接著再說說那邊的「萬國建築群」，事實上那些建築完完全全由外國人所建造，與上海的發展根本八竿子也打不到一塊去，又不是石庫門小弄堂那種上海獨有的建築形式，也敢被稱為上海過去輝煌的標志，真是貽笑大方。而且每到晚上，那些有著六七十年歷史的「老古董」被打上呼里花哨、光怪陸離的燈光時，有如一堆七八十歲的老頭老太個個濃妝艷抹，實在讓人毛骨悚然。估計那些老外來外灘的目的就在於這些老建築了吧，因為在他們自己國家那麼歷史悠久的本國建築也不多了，而在上海一下能看到那麼多，於是乎在異地漂泊的遊子心中一種家鄉的眷戀感油然而生，這與我們去動物園時在猩猩猴子館前待的時間較長的原因相同，因為在那裡我們通常能找到自己的歸屬感。再說說那些現代建築，那東方明珠酷似某有機分子的棍棒型原子空間結構圖，並與金茂、環球金融大廈三座高樓直指青天，有如墳前的三柱青香，還有一旁的國際會展中心，從外灘看要多難看有多難看，就兩個球堆在那裡，碰上個視力差點的，還以為那兩個球是從東方明珠上掉下來的，同時掉下來的還有一個球滾得比較遠，在徐家匯停住了就成了美羅城。那些外地土鱉來上海大概就是為了看個新鮮，要知道那麼詭異的建築在他們那旮旯是見不到的，這樣一種心理與他們聽說有一隻三條腿的蛤蟆而趕去看熱鬧的心理是相似的。曾經有這么一個笑話，說一個外地人來上海，一出火車站就看見了金茂大廈，於是乎就跑到金茂底下，仰著個腦袋數到底有多少層，大半天過後還沒數完，因為每次數到一半時脖子酸了活動活動筋骨後又忘了數到哪了就只能重數，如此往復，到最後這個獃子就只能平躺在地上數了。由此可見一斑。

常聽到有人介紹外灘時大言不慚地說外灘的新老建築的對比體現了上海幾十年發展的成果，殊不知在那些極度發達的國家，諸如瑞士、盧森堡，那裡一個窮人的生活水平比我們這里兒富人還高，而它們那邊最高的建築竟然是一幢三層樓的、高十米的政府辦公樓。發展的變化並不僅僅是靠建築的新舊、高低評定的。也許當有一天，來上海旅遊的人不再那麼一如既往地去外灘了，或許是一條干凈平整的馬路，抑或許是路邊一座環境優雅的公共廁所都能讓人贊不絕口、流連忘返，那時上海的發展變化就真的十分巨大了。

那個地方對我來講簡直是世外桃源，景色秀麗，風景迷人，特別在晚上那五彩繽紛的東方明朱美麗的是難以用形容詞來描繪的。那就是上海著名的外灘。

清晨我們全家打扮的漂漂亮亮乘車去外灘，在車上我不斷的幻想著外灘的模樣，雖然我暈車，一路上十分難受，但我心中除了喜悅已沒有其他可占據我心間。
我暈糊糊的到了外灘，下車一看，哇！好美啊！比我想像中要更好，更美。
