在一個冰冷冰冷的冬天，寒風刺骨，連人也不敢出門，我真怪老天爺，今天這么冷還讓我上學。我匆匆地吃了早餐，背著書包出門去了。在路上，陣陣刺骨的寒風迎面而來，我只好硬著頭向前走。在不遠，一根大竹把我攔住了，我陡然停止，悶悶不樂地顧視前方。只見離大竹不遠有一位清潔工正毫無怨言地為人們挖通前幾天被堵塞的『臭水渠』。他挨著冷，忍受著惡心的臭味，用一雙差不多被凍僵的手緊緊地拿著鐵鏟，然後用力地把鐵鏟插進了被堵塞的『臭水渠』里，再把鏟起的垃圾倒到旁邊的桶里……突然，大事不妙，『臭水渠』裡面被塞實了，用鐵鏟鏟不行，用夾子夾不行，那位清潔工只好戴著手套下去挖。她下倒了『臭水渠』，冰冷的水像一支支利箭直刺他的腳。她忍受著疼痛，仍吃苦受累地挖……行人看見了也熱心地走過來對清潔工說：「小劉，別再挖了。天這么冷，你叫幾個負責這工作的人來替你挖就行了，何況這工作又不是你負責的，你就快回去休息吧!」「咦!這是怎麼回事?這工作不是他負責的?那他這么辛苦來做這幹啥呢?……」想著想著，我不由自主地被他那種無私奉獻的精神深深地打動了，便情不自禁地走到他身旁，輕聲細語地對她說：「叔叔，別再挖了!你就叫幾個負責這工作的清潔工來挖吧!快回去休息吧!」只見他抬起頭，氣喘吁吁地對我說：「我決不會回去休息的，我一定要把這條『臭水渠』挖通。」看著他那倔強的樣子，我只好無可奈何地上學去了。
