My favorite novel is <<Around the World in Eighty Days>> which is written by Jules Verne. The author was born in France and devoted himself to literature and wrote several scientific romances, which gained him the name——Father of Modern Science Fiction.
This is a book of science fiction which tells us an exciting story about an English gentleman, Mr. Phileas Fogg, who makes a bet with his clubmates and manages to travel around the world in eighty days. 一位楊姓家長稱，他最近在電視上看到「單詞不用記大型講座」的廣告，宣稱能「運用精彩奇特且幽默橫生的動畫來幫助你快速記住單詞」、「保證在30小時內記住小學與初中單詞」，而實際上該教材是提倡通過拆分單詞提高記憶，如果想要將單詞記下來，就得先把單詞拆分後用中文解釋背下。如英語單詞「ask」，中文含義是邀請，在教材中是將「ask」拆分：a（一）、s（蛇）、k（開車），中文註解：一位蛇先生邀請蛇女士開車去參加舞會。楊姓家長認為，這種號稱能快速記憶單詞的方法不僅無法引起孩子的興趣，反而有些牽強附會。
另一位胡姓家長告訴記者，30小時記住初中六本書的所有單詞根本是不可能的事，而且該套教材實際上十二張光碟只有720個單詞。另外，該教材對外宣稱是中國第一位世界記憶大師張傑主講，也令家長質疑。

為此，近日，記者來到一經路的席殊書屋找到一本「單詞不用記」教材。記者在該教材上看到如下內容：「讓你的孩子贏在起跑線上，一個單詞一個動畫過目不忘，30個小時記完全部課本英語單詞，成功指導小學生在10天內記熟4000個大學英語四級單詞……」該套教材標價498/套，一女營業員告訴記者，實際售價為398元/套。當記者要求可否打開該教材看一下時，該營業員以教材密封為由拒絕了記者。

面對質疑很難解釋清楚
當日上午11時左右，記者以家長的身份致電「單詞不用記」的咨詢熱線。一個自稱5號的女接線員對記者稱：「單詞不用記」對學生記憶單詞很有效。而當記者向其表明身份後，該女接線員卻稱具體情況她不清楚，她將叫相關負責人回記者電話。
15分鍾後，記者接到「單詞不用記」南昌銷售代理一位胡姓負責人的電話。胡稱，「單詞不用記」的「記」是指死記硬記。該套教材是通過案例教學生一套記憶單詞的方法。當記者問為何宣稱中國第一位世界記憶大師張傑，胡稱張傑是中國第一位在馬來西亞參加英語記憶大賽並獲獎的人。面對記者提出的種種質疑，胡避而不答並稱很難解釋清楚；當記者問其公司的地址，其乾脆拒絕回答。
