主振型從概念上講其實就是振型,一個意思。
主振型:這種結構位移形狀保持不變的振動形式可稱為主振型或振型。
它具有兩個特點:
①. 在振動過程中,兩個質點具有相同的頻率和相同的相位角;
②. 在振動過程中,兩個質點的位移在數值上隨時間而變化,但二者的比值始終保持不變。

採用剛性樓板假定時,T周期最長的振型為主振型。非剛性樓板時,參與質量最大的振型是主振型。

振型:在振動的任一時刻,各質體位移的比值保持不變,即振動形狀保持不變,將此振動形式稱為振型。
振型有如下特點:
1. 結構自振頻率數=結構自由度數量;
2. 每一個結構自振頻率對應一個結構振型;
3. 第一自振頻率叫基頻,對應第一振型;
4. 結構每一振型表示結構各質點的一種運動特性:各質點之間的位移和速度保持固定比值;
5. 要使結構按某一振型振動,條件是:各質點之間的初位移和初速度的比值應具有該振型的比值關系;
6. 根據多質點體系自由振動運動微分方程的通解,在一般初始條件下,結構的振動是由各主振型的簡諧振動疊加而成的復合振動;
7. 因為振型越高,阻尼作用造成的衰減越快,所以高振型只在振動初始才比較明顯,以後則逐漸衰減,因此,工程的抗震設計中僅考慮較低的幾個振型。
