如何提高高中學生英語短文改錯能力

短文改錯題型綜合性強、難度大,考查的知識面廣,給考生帶來極大的困難。學生在做這類題時,往往顧此失彼,無從下手。本人認為要做好這類題,重要的是要有扎實的語言基礎,學生不僅要掌握扎實的語法知識,還要有較強的閱讀理解和分析判斷能力。因此,教師必須要從聽、說、讀、寫方面的訓練抓起,有目的、有步驟、循序漸進地提高學生的解題能力。
一、抓好聽、說、讀、寫訓練,打好扎實的語言基礎 由於學生在英語學習中的錯誤大量地存在於口、筆頭訓練中,因而要求教師在教學中要注意培養學生口、筆頭正確運用語言的能力。復習課文時,每堂課都要讓學生運用本課中的單詞和句型造句,先在課堂上口頭造句,然後在課後做筆頭強化練習。每節課都要造十幾個句子。例如:在復習marry這個詞時,讓學生們口頭造句,他們造出了Mary married John last year.和Mary was married to John last year. 等句子。由於受本族語的影響,有些學生把be married to sb.結構中的to錯用為with,通過大量的口、筆頭聯系,學生對英語的習慣用法掌握較牢固,錯誤也相應減少了。
二、從單句改錯入手,提高學生判斷錯誤的能力
在教學中,及時發現和歸納學生在口、筆頭練習中出現的錯誤,並把帶有普遍性的典型錯誤集中起來,編成單句改錯練習讓學生做。學生做這樣的改錯題感到較容易,提高了答題的准確率,收到了良好的效果。例如,下列句子中,每句都有一處錯誤:
①It』s bad manner to shout in public. 句中manner應改為manners。由於學生在大量的口、筆頭練習中形成了語感,good manners,bad manners能脫口而出,因此能輕易地發現錯誤。
②The recorder isn』t mine. It』s John brother』s.句中John應改為John』s。此題必須通過語法、詞類的復習和鞏固,對名詞的所有格及代詞的用法了如指掌,才能發現並准確判斷正誤,達到糾正錯誤的目的。
③She』s found her lost necklace, isn』t she? 句中isn』t she 應改為hasn』t she 。此題要求學生清楚「』s」簡略式的幾種情況,並根據句意判斷是被動式還是現在完成式,此題考查學生綜合語法知識的能力。
④I regret telling you that you didn』t pass the exam.句中telling應改為to tell。此題是測試學生對動詞regret用法的掌握情況。學生必須認真審題,理解全句意思,才能判斷應該用不定式還是用動名詞。在改錯這個句子時,還應該要求學生掌握remember,forget,stop等動詞後接不定式和動名詞用法的區別。
⑤Sugar is tasted sweet.句中is tasted應改為tastes。這道題考查學生對系動詞用法的掌握情況。除了從語法角度弄清楚其用法外,還要弄清楚taste,smell,feel,sound,look等這類詞的特點。
上述例句說明,改錯訓練的知識面很廣,教師在教學和指導學生復習時必須從全方位入手,自始至終貫徹聽、說、讀、寫訓練的原則,通過大量的單句改錯練習,為學生做短文改錯練習打下堅實的基礎。
三、掌握改錯答題技巧,提高綜合改錯能力
指導學生由易到難、由簡到繁、循序漸進地進行短文改錯訓練。自編一些短文單項改錯練習,即每一篇文章中,都只有一種錯誤,如每一行都多一詞或少一詞等。學生做這類題困難要小一些,做起來有興趣,得分率也高,提高了他們獲取成功的信心。在此基礎上,再讓學生做綜合的短文改錯練習時,指導學生分四步做這類題。
第一步,通讀全文,了解大意。從短文改錯的題型來看,它並不是單純地改正語法、
詞法等語法錯誤,而是在改錯的同時,考查學生的閱讀能力。
第二步,找出明顯的錯誤。例如:After a long time, he found John a honest worker. 此句中的不定冠詞「a」就是一個明顯的錯誤。又如:At that time, Tom and his friends were playing footballs on the playground. 句中的「footballs」是一個明顯的拼寫錯誤。學生先把明顯的錯誤找出來,可以縮小改錯范圍,把注意力集中到較難判斷的句子上。
第三步,從語法角度逐個審查時態、主謂一致、代詞、名詞復數、冠詞、介詞等用法,特別注意一些虛詞的用法,進一步找出錯誤。例如,一篇短文有這樣一句話:The old gentleman went up to the boys and asks them what it was happening. 句中第一個錯誤是並列句的時態不一致,應將asks改為asked。第二個錯誤是多一個詞「it」。這類錯誤要仔細觀察句子結構,進行語法分析才能發現。
第四步,從行文邏輯判斷入手。一些邏輯上的錯誤,從語法角度來看是正確的,但通過上下文的邏輯關系來看,就會發現錯誤。例如:The old gentleman thought that it was a good chance to teach the boys a useful lesson, but he said to them, 「I』ve never told a lie in one』s life.」句中but應改為so,one』s 應改為my。學生掌握了這種四步法的解題技巧後,改錯能力有了明顯的提高。
四、重視講評,提高學生對錯誤的分析能力 重視對短文改錯練習的講評。每當學生做完一篇練習,都引導學生分析題中出現的錯誤屬於哪一類,自己為什麼錯,那些錯誤是可以避免的。通過這樣的分析講解,學生基本上能弄清出錯的原因,從而會收到較好的效果。例如:Then she would not go shopping with her husband if he had not promissed to buy her some jewelry.句中 would not go應改為would not have gone。在此句中如不看條件句中謂語動詞的結構,就判斷不出這是與過去事實相反的虛擬語氣。在講評時,提出這類問題,並要求學生仔細審題,學生吸取了教訓,以後這類錯誤就少了。
