My First Time at the English Corner
It was a beautiful Sunday. Our teacher told us that there would be an English Corner near the gate of the People』s Park. I started off soon after breakfast.
It was already 9:20 when I got there. To my joy, the English Corner had just been on for a few minutes. Oh, what a big crowd! There were professors, teachers, cadres①, engineers, workers, students and PLA men. Some were reading the SSP (Shanghai Students』s Post), some were talking while others were listening attentively②. Everyone was eager to learn from others.
I joined them in their talk. At first, I was afraid that my English was so poor and limited that I couldn』t follow them or make myself understood. I was also afraid that someone might laugh at me. But a smiling face here and an encouraging nod there soon put me at ease③. I became bolder and came to speak English with them freely.
We talked about the situation at home and abroad, about our school life, our hobbies and our ideas. We exchanged experience in our studies with one another and shared views, all in English. I learned a lot of knowledge and made a lot of friends. Through practice, we all improved our English.
The day was unforgettable. Though today we speak only in simple English, we all believe that tomorrow we will make greater progress in English.

Buying Vegetables
This morning I got up early and went to the market to buy some vegetables instead my mother for the first time.
The market was very crowded and busy with nearly all kinds of goods on display. Some sellers were shouting at the top of their voice to attract the attention of the people. Housewives were picking out vegetables and bargaining with the sellers. A man was selling fresh fish, which were swimming in a big basin, and a lot of buyers crowded around it and chose what they wanted. Making cities greener has many advantages. First, it can make our air cleaner. Some researchers have proved that trees can rece the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere through absorption. Second, it can make our cities more beautiful. With trees and flowers everywhere, living conditions can be improved. Finally, it can proce timber----an effective way to solve the problems of limited supply of natural resources.
Making our cities greener requires nationwide efforts. People in every field should not only know about the importance of keeping the quality of urban environment, but also take common action to plant more trees and flowers so as to improve our living conditions.

I make it a rule to read the newspaper every day. As a student, I have no time to watch news programs on TV. Besides, watching television takes up a lot of time. Consequently, reading the newspaper becomes the only way for me to learn about what's happening around the world.
There is an old Chinese saying: "A scholar need not leave his home to know what's going on in the world." While newspapers do not carry the latest, up-to-the minute world news, they give us a great deal of useful knowledge. Thus, reading the newspaper is, in my opinion, a must for those who wish to keep up with the times.

How to keep healthy

What is the most important thing in the world? I think it is health.You can take away our money, house, car, or even our clothes and we can survive. But if our health was taken away, we would surely die. That is why we always try to eat in a healthy way and exercise regularly.

In order to eat healthily, I usually avoid eating food high in fat, like french fries or cookies. I also eat little meat. I eat a lot of vegetables and fresh fruit which are full of vitamins. Taking exercise every day helps us build a strong body. Regular exercise is an important part of keeping me healthy.

To rece the crime rate, we all the people should receive a law ecation. Criminals must be severely punished. Meanwhile we should set up a foundation to reward those who fight criminals. It is also important to call on people to learn from those heroes and encourage more people to stand up to crime.

I have a very beautiful cat. Its colour is white and yellow. Its name is Haahua. I think it is my favourite cat.

An Accident
意外
One sunny afternoon, when I was merrily riding home, I heard "Help! Help!".

I rode to the riverside and found a boy of about five in the river struggling. I jumped into the water, swam to the boy and dragged him to the river bank. The boy said he was trying to catch a fish near the river bank and carelessly fell into the water. I asked him where his home was and sent him home.

Health or Wealth?
健康還是財富？
Which is more important, health or wealth? When given this question, different people have varied answers. Some insist that health plays a more important role in our life, while others see more advantages arising from wealth.
健康和財富，哪個更重要？當這個問題被提出來的時候，不同的人有不同的答案。有些人堅持認為，在我們生活中，健康扮演者更為重要的角色，然而其他人認為健康能帶給我們更多利益。
The first group of people quote the old saying "Health is above wealth" to prove their idea. They argue that, on the one hand, a strong person can do almost anything as long as he/she tries hard. On the other hand, however, rich people will not be able to enjoy the wealth if their days are numbered.

In contrast, the advocate s of wealth have such arguments as follows. For one thing, wealthy people will be able to buy more healthful foods. For another, they can enjoy better facilities to improve their health. Take my neighbor, Lao Wang, as an example. He had a heart attack and is in hospital. However, he cannot afford the expensive operation , which costs as much as 100,000 yuan. Therefore, he has to lie in bed hopelessly . If he were a rich man, his life could be saved.

As far as I am concerned, both health and wealth are important to our life. We should try to strike a balance between them and gain wealth with a healthy body.

Start is the first and most difficult thing. My experiment don't start and I don't know when it starts.I know many things should do for my experiment,and also I hane much puzzles in my mind. I need to look up some literatures related to my research. I must have the faith and courage to do my research.
lose her just sadly
I am sure that I would lose her, which is not I want to see, But it is out of control for me. Reality is cruel ,contradictory and unavoidable. Lost her for me means that I lost the only loved person , and I couldn't be happy forever. I have sweared that if I couldn't get her I wouldn't mention love with other person for these years. Yesterday, I saw her in the library , when I went out from the laboratory, Seeing her is lucky and excited to me.She seemed to be happy with her classmates, and I didn't stared at them until they left my views. I know she is deeply in my heart, or I don't miss her every second. My heart are full of her all and my sadness.
My Happy Times During Winter Vacation
I often go to see my grandma and grandpa ring winter vacation. They are both seventy years old and live in the country happily. I can do many interesting things there. I am used to getting up early in the morning and breathing the fresh air in the countryside. After snow, I would like to skate and ski with my friends. When night comes, I am used to sitting by the fire and listening to grandma telling me many funny stories. And I tell her some new things happening in the city. When I have to go back, I am always reluctant to go. I really feel happy living in the country.

It was the first day of our winter holiday. All of us were very happy. Why? Because we have one months to do things we love to do. We are free. Although we have some homework. But we can finish them in several days. And the rest time we can make good use of. My god! We have been very tired after hard studying. In winter holidays, I want to have full sleep and eat good food in order to replenish myself. Last but not the least, I will have a good rest.

It was the second day of our winter holiday. I felt good. I felt I』m free. I had a lot of time to do things I like. My parents are in Beijing. So I live alone but I don』t feel lonely. But I didn』t do something special. I stayed at home and watched TV. Oh! I wrote an English daily composition. It was my homework. Today, I have slept for 14 hours. I thought I was very tired. It was time for dinner. I must go! I am very hungry.

It was the third day of our winter holiday. Today, there are many business in my mother』s company. So my mother told me to help my uncle who is the manager of my mother』s company. I sat in my mother』s office and help her answer the telephone. While I was free, I was writing my homework. Although I also have a lot of time to do my homework, I still do it. Because in my mother』s office, I had nothing to do. If I did nothing, I was wasting my time and my life. I can』t do the foolish thing. We should take good use of our time.

i didn't feel very well today .after lunch , i felt my belly pain . so i went to hosipital with my mother .after had some medicine ,by the way ,it's so bitter ,i had a break . i feel it's serious to be ill .so everyone should take care of itself .healthy is an thing that so important to us . how i wish nobody in the world would get ill any more ! and i make my mind to be a doctor to help the person who are ill , i'll never make the patient feel pain any longer. how i wish my dream could come true! today i was very happy . in the morning , i did some cleaning .i wash cllothes for my parents and clean furniture and floor .i didn't know hoe tired my mom was untill now . i will help my mother do more housework in the near future .then a friend of mine came to visit me ,we were talking for a long time .after lunch ,i had a break. in the afternoon ,i went to saw my grangpa with my brother . we really have a great time . in the evening , i played cards as well as watched tv with my family .it's really an excting day .

it was too hot today .the sunshine was very strong .even if i sit under the fan ,i still feel hot . and i was very fretting because of i felt very empty . my summer hoiday doesn't seems to be meaningful . i stay at home every day and doesn't do anything but play computer . it's so meaningless. the summer holiday is half finished ,however, i haven't do anything meaningful . it was too bad for me .i think i need to do something special to make my holiday be more colurful .

it was a beautiful day . some birds were singing on the trees and the sky looks very blue .the clouds gathered suggest it was a suuny day today .i got up early in the morning at about six . then i did some morning exercises .after breakfast ,i helped my mother plant some flowers .at noon , Xiaojie sended me SMS . she saied that she planed to go to Shangdong Province to have a visit and asked me if i want to go with her .i think it's really a good idea . i plan to go with her after finished my homework . i can't wait !

it was nothing speacial has happened today . i got up late as usual and had lunch at about 11 o'clock . then played computer games with my brother . at first ,i can't played very well so i asked my brother to teach me . after 1 hour , i can play it myself . but i found computer games were so interesting in the afternoon , my mother told me we'll go to my uncle's home at 21th to see my uncle .And at about 7 o'clock ,my father come back home after work . after super , both of my family are go out to have a walk . it was a sunny day and it's not very hot .i didn't get up until 9 o'clock in the morning .because i went to bed late yesterday .after i got up ,i felt very hungry . i ate up all the food that my mother cooked for me .it's so delicious . my uncle bought my grandma a cellphone today , but she didn't know how to use it .so after lunch i went to see my grandma to taught her how to use the cellphone . it was really a hard work , she is too old to remember so many things. finially, i just let her know the simpliest thing ,such as how to dial and hang up the phone .i'll teach her inthe near future .

it was rainy today .in fact , i don't like such days . because i must take an umbrela if i want to go out . i think it's so inconvenient . on the contray , my brother likes rain very much ,he likes play in the water and often go out without umbrella with his friends in rainy days .And they are all become wet from head to foot .i thought it is really a serious thing for me .But i have to say it was much cooler than yesterday because of the rain . my father didn't come back tonight .just because the rain was too heavily . it's dangerous to drive on the road .after supper , i have nothing to do so i went to bad early tonight .
