中考作文到底要寫多少個字和分幾段?題目要求一般是要寫不少於80字的，但字數不能過多，過多信息點不突出而且顯得庸常;但不能為了湊字數來構思文章。要根據所給的信息點安排文章內容，注重句子結構的合理。
分段是必需的事情，但也要靈活處理，要看作文要求。如果文章一開始給出了一個不完整的句子，例如「I』ve learned about your problems. I think…」一定要把句子補全後，再進行其他內容的構思和分段。還有一些是完整的句子，這時要看這個句子和文章主要表達的內容關系是否緊密。如果聯系緊密可以單獨算一段;如果是一般的總起句子，那麼還需要自己添加文字過渡到文章主要內容後，再進行分段構思。

把文章大致分為三段，整篇文章大致寫出十句話，具體多與少可根據題目要求上下調整。
第一段兩句話。
議論文：第一句，說明事實情況，第二句，提出論點。
記敘文：第一句，概況發生的事情，第二句，發表作者個人觀點。
第二段六句話。
議論文：第一句論點1，第二句論據1，第三句論點2，第四句論據2，第五句論點3，第六句論據3。論點一般為作文要求中所給的信息點，論據可以為信息點，也可為作者自己的例證、數據以及說理性文字。
記敘文：第一句事件1，第二句事件2，第三句議論1，第四句事件3，第五句事件4，第六句議論2。記敘文要根據作文要求寫出具體事件，可根據要求增加事件條目減少議論條目，也可減少事件條目增加議論條目。中間段應為邊記敘邊議論，議論條目一般為作者自己添加的內容，可根據作文內容靈活選擇其放置位置，不可過於刻板，不能為了議論而議論。
第三段兩句話。
議論文：第一句，表明作者觀點，呼應首段。第二句，承諾和口號類文字。
記敘文：第一句，總結和體會，內容應和首段觀點保持一致。第二句，展望和希望類文字。
例文剖析

這篇是2011年的英語中考原題。範文共分為三段十一句話，第一段必須要把題目所給的不完整的句子補全。按照「十句話作文」的原則，在第一段中要適當表明作者的觀點，範文中使用了一個make sb. unhappy的結構透露了作者對將要敘述事件的態度。記敘文的第二段也要注意敘述的順序，可以是時間線索也可以是空間線索。一般寫景的文章我們多用空間線索，寫人寫事的文章多用時間線索。本文中使用了幾個詞和片語就把整個事件有機地串聯起來了，比如「However…, At the moment…, Immediately…, To my surprise…, What worse」。這些詞的作用非常類似中文作文中的「起，承，轉，合」，它們使文章各個信息點緊密地連接成為一篇完整的文章。同時，記敘文不代表不可以議論。最後一段里，作者呼應並且遞進了第一段表達的觀點，這也類似中文作文中的結尾升華。
