Now the father had settled， his promising son should his studies conclude when he reached twenty one；and he went，with a heart beating high with emotion， to launch the young man on life's turbulent ocean．As they entered the town，a young maiden tripped by， with a cheek like a rose， and a lightlaughing eye．“O father， what's that？” cried the youth with delight， as this vision of loveliness burst on his sight．“O，that，” cried the cautious and politic Squire， who did not they outh's ardent glances admire，“is only a thing called a Goose，my dear son ；we shall see many more ere our visit is done．”

Blooming damsels now passed with their butter and cheese，whose beauty might even an anchorite please：“Merelygeese！” said the Squire，“don't mind them，my dear；thereare many things better worth looking at here．” As onwards they passed， every step brought to view some spectacle equally curious and new；and the joy of the youth hardly knew any bounds， at the roped ancers， tumblers， and merry gorounds．

As soon as the tour of the town was completed， the fatherre solved that the boy should be treated； so， pausing an instant，he said，“My dear son， a new era today in your life has begun；now of all this bright scene and the gayeties in it，choose whatever you like，it is yours from this minute．”“Choose whatever I like？” cried the jouthful recluse．“O， thank you，dear father， then give me—a goose！”

A speeding motorist was waved down by a police patrol car. “I'm going to give you a ticket for speeding,” said the policeman, writing his note. “You've been driving over 60 miles per hour.”

A Scary Experience

In 2002 a very scary thing happened around me.One day, at school，as usual, my classmates and I were having our physics class. Most of the students were paying attention to what the teacher was saying, but some boys were looking around and not listening to the class. Nothing seemed unusual.

Suddenly, one of my classmates shouted, “ outside!! Someone jumped out of that window!” This definitely interrupted class, but everyone ignored him because no one believed that people just jumped out of a window in a tall building. People always tell lies and try to trick you, so no one took any action about it. My classmate was still saying, “Believe me, it is true.”

After a few minutes, the truth shocked everyone, because my classmate was right. A student just committed suicide by jumping from the building which was facing ours. The class stopped and some brave people went outside to see, but I didn’t. They told me there was blood all over the ground. They couldn’t even recognize who that student was because his face was all messed up. People from the school quickly covered the dead body. In a few minutes, everyone in the school knew what just happened.

This whole event happened so quickly. There were actually two people who saw the whole thing. One was my classmate who shouted in the class and another was a teacher walking nearby. The teacher was totally scared. At the moment the student dropped on the ground in front of her she sat down with her eyes shut tightly. I heard that after this event the teacher was in the hospital for a month.
