2、标点符号要写在正确的位置上。句号(.)、逗号(，)及省略号(?)要写在紧靠第三线(基准线)的上方，而不是在第二格(主体格)中间。冒号(:)和分号(;)的下端分别与(.)、(，)的位置相同，上端稍低于第二线(主体线)。引号(“”)与大写字母的上端相齐。省字号(或表示名词所有格的符号)(’)大致比字母i的点高出一些。(?)和(!)大致与大写字母同样高低。连字符号(-)及破折号(——)应写在第二格(主体格)当中。
3、字母与字母不论是否连写，间隔要均匀、适应、不要靠得太紧，也不要离得太远。单词之间必须有适当的距离。一般来说，以空出小写字母a的宽度为宜。
4、在书写时，我们还要注意尽量不把一个单词拆开移行。万一要移行，则必须以音节为单位进行，如revolution这个词，依照音节移行的原则可以按re-，revo-, revolu-这几种方法移行，而不能随心所欲在任何地方拆开单词进行移行。
