一、写英语作文时，使用各种语法手段是必要的。语言的形成是先有“语（声音）”，后有“言（文字）”，最后在 “语言”实践的基础上才上升为指导使用语言的“语法”。没有人因为不懂得语法而不会讲话。因此，写作文时应该按照题目的要求组织语句和段落，没有必要先考虑语法而后构思句子。可以按照下列四步去完成写作任务：
1. 勾勒要点：即把作文要求中的所有要点没有遗漏地勾勒出来。
2. 编写提纲：即用英语简单句按照要点写成提纲。
3. 梳理成段：即用必要的连线手段把提纲按照发展顺序梳理成段。
4. 润色成文：即在已经构思好的段落中新增比较高阶的词语，如过渡句、关联词语等，并把简单句改写为复杂句，如各种复合句、非谓语动词、虚拟语气等。
二、另外，有效地使用了语句间的连线成分，使全文结构紧凑，是高考作文能否获得高分的必要手段。因此，考试前有必要学会语句间的承接手段。
1. 有些孤立的句子，可以通过下列手段，使它们有机的连线紧凑：
a) 表示先后次序：at this time; first; second; at last; next；previously; simultaneously; eventually；last but not least；to begin with；to start with；to end with；finally；seeing...；since then；first of all；afterwards; following this; preceding this.

2. 如果要从一层意思过渡到另一层意思，可以使用下面的词语：
a) 表示补充或递进：furthermore；moreover；further；In this way；still；not only...but also...；not...but...；in addition (to)；additionally, much more interesting, more specifically, next, besides；as far as... is concerned; moreover；in other words；along this line of consideration；on the one hand...，on the other hand...；even；as a poplar saying goes...；in order to do it...; meanwhile；at the same time；aordingly；In the first place...，in the second place...;equally important; of even greater appeal.

3. 用来扩充套件文章篇幅可以使用如下手段：

3、凉坯：将已烫皮挂色的鸭子挂在阴凉、通风处，使鸭子皮肤干燥，一般在春秋季经24小时凉坯，夏季4-6小时。
4、烤制：首先用塞子将鸭子肛门堵住，将开水由颈部刀口处灌入，称为灌汤，然后再打一遍色，然后进入烤炉。北京烤鸭选用的木材以枣木为最好，其次为桃、杏、梨木。木材点燃后，炉温升至200℃以上时，便可以烤鸭了，烤鸭的温度是关键，一般炉温控制在250-300℃之间，在烤制过程中，根据鸭子上色情况，调整鸭子的方位，一般需烤制30分钟左右，烤制也可以根据鸭子出炉时腔内颜色判断烤制的熟度，汤为粉红色时，说明鸭子7-8分熟，浅白色汤时，为9-10分熟，但汤为乳白色时，就说明烤过火了。这一点千万要注意。
5、鸭子出炉后，最好马上刷一层香油，以增加鸭皮的光亮度。

原料：光鸭（约四斤）、京葱或葱段（两棵）、甜面酱（两汤匙）、薄饼（适量）、青瓜（切条）（半个）、配料：盐（两茶匙）、酒（一汤匙）、淋鸭皮料：麦芽糖（两汤匙）、清水（三杯）
制作过程
1、鸭于翼底外开一孔，取出肠脏（可请鸭档代劳），洗净，以配料涂匀鸭腔。
2、用三寸长木条纳入鸭腔内，横挡于两翅骨间，插一支管在鸭头部，吹气使鸭全向澎涨。
3、用滚水淋鸭外皮至起凸点，煮溶淋鸭皮料，涂匀鸭皮挂在当风处吹干。
4、用叉撑着鸭放在火炉上烧，须反覆转动及多次涂油，烧至皮脆及呈金红色上碟。
5、若用炉烤，鸭以锡纸包着烤至八成熟，除去锡纸再烤至鸭皮呈金黄色取出，用滚油淋鸭皮至脆上碟。
6、趁热将鸭片皮，伴以京葱、青瓜、甜面酱及薄饼同食。
