写作部分是学位英语考试的一个难点，目的是考查学生的综合语言能力。因此，考生在解答这部分题目时，必须要有一个清晰的思路。写作基本上可以按照审题——构思——写作——检查修改这样的步骤来解题：

(一)审题

看到作文题目之后，第一步就是要认真审题。审题是作文的前提，审题做得好，写起来就可以事半功倍。审题时主要对以下几个方面进行分析：

1.题型

即作文的题目是哪种形式的，是提纲式还是图表式，是情景式还是关键词式。不同的题型要求不同的结构和格式。确定了是哪种题型，就可以根据前面所讲述的各种题型的特点、要求等来考虑应对策略。

2.体裁

即题目要求写作的是什么文体，是议论文、记叙文、说明文还是信件、通知等应用文体。

不同的文体对语言风格和文章结构的要求不同。

如果是议论文，就要想到应该采用哪种方法进行论述，是列举法还是例证法，是归纳法还是演绎法等，同时要提醒自己注意论述的逻辑要清楚，论述要有力等。如果是记叙文，就要想到如何构建事情的发展脉络，语言表述要符合记叙文的要求，事情的记叙要结构清晰，记叙文的六要素，即事件的时间、地点、人物、起因、经过、结果，要表达明白等。而说明文则要求对事物或事件进行描写说明，特别要注意说明文的语言问题。如果是书信或通知等应用文体，除了要准确表述所要求的内容之外，还要注意格式问题。

3.题意

即题目所要求的主题或者说写作内容。根据题目中所给的提纲、图表、情景或关键词等信息，考生可以确定作文的主题是什么，是关于哪个方面的，具体的要求又是什么。如果确定了作文的题材范围，那么考生就可以积极地从自己的知识储备中调动相关知识，进行构思。

(二)构思

在分析清楚了作文的题型、体裁、题意之后，考生应该开始构思写作内容和写作步骤了。

这一步主要是考虑作文的写作提纲，确定文章的基本结构，同时从题目和头脑中搜索信息，组织材料，确定要写作的内容。如果时间允许的话，考生可以在草稿纸上大致写下提纲和所想到的各种信息，然后根据题目要求进行筛选，确定哪些信息要出现在作文当中。如果考生觉得时间很紧张的话，可以只在头脑中构思，不动笔写下来。但是一定要构思出一个清晰而完整的写作思路，以指导下一步骤的下笔写作。

(三)写作

即考生真正动笔在答题纸上写作文的阶段。因为有了前面的构思，已经有大致的框架和思路了，所以写起来应该不会太费力。到了写作阶段，考生还应该注意一些问题：

1.选词要恰当

考生要特别注意选词的恰当性和准确性。英语中有很多同义词和近义词，考生要注意这些词的细微差别，尤其要注意感情色彩方面的差异，比如politician和statesman等。

2.句子和段落发展要连贯

句子之间的逻辑关系要明确，段落之间的相互关系也要清楚，尤其要注意句子之间以及段落之间的衔接，注意运用衔接手段来保持文章行文的连贯性。一些常用的表示句子之间的关系的连接词有：

(1)并列关系

and，more than that，also，likewise，moreover，in addition，what’s more，furthermore

(2)转折关系

although，though，while，however，on the contrary，but，in spite of，nevertheless，yet，otherwise，despite

(3)顺序关系

first，second，third，firstly，secondly，thirdly，then，before，after，next

quently，on account of，thanks to，because of

(5)归纳关系

as a result，finally，accordingly，in short，thus，consequently，in conclusion，so，in brief，in a word，therefore，to sum up，generally speaking

3.文章的结构要完整

即文章写作要有始有终，而且要符合题目的要求。不要有始无终，只作分析，没有结论，或者只有发展，没有结果。

4.注意文章的时态和语法问题

在写作时，考生要时刻注意，提醒自己尽量不要犯一些语法错误，尤其要注意时态问题，是否与题目要求相一致，文章内部是否统一等。还要注意主谓一致的问题。

(四)检查修改

这一步骤也很重要。作文写作完毕之后，考生应该通读全文，检查其中是否有语法错误、拼写错误、标点符号使用错误、断句等，还要注意读起来是否顺畅，其中的逻辑关系是否清楚，行文是否连贯通顺等。对于发现的一些错误，应该尽量修改。但是，注意不要对文章的大结构进行较大的改动，一是因为时间可能不够，二是因为这样势必会导致卷面杂乱，而且因为是对结构进行改动，很有可能造成思路混乱，越改越乱。

(五)注意事项

除了按照以上的步骤进行解题之外，考生还应该注意以下事项：

1.要合理分配时间

因为写作的考试时间是三十分钟，所以考生要合理安排和利用。具体说来，可以根据写作的步骤把三十分钟分为三个阶段。一般应利用五分钟的时间进行审题和构思。弄清题目要求并构造出一个写作提纲后，考生要利用二十分钟左右的时间根据构思的提纲，按照已确定的写作内容来正式动笔写作。最后利用五分钟的时间来通读全文，进行检查和修改。切忌在某一阶段花费过多的时间，那样会减少其他步骤的时间，有时甚至可能没有时间来进行其他步骤的工作了。

2.作文的字数要恰当

学位英语考试的作文一般要求是100～120个词。考生要注意不能写得太长或太短。如果写得太长的话，可能会比较罗嗦。俗话说，“言多必失”，写得越多，就意味着出现错误的可能性越大。此外，时间方面也不允许考生超“长”发挥。但是如果写得太短，字数太少，阅卷老师也会酌情扣分。另外，作文也会显得不充分、太空洞。因此，考生要注意，写得太长和写得太短都不合适，字数在规定的范围内是最合适的。
