2、经济全球化有利于我国进出口的不断增长，有利于产品结构的改善
进出口是一国经济发展的强大推动力，尤其是出口，更是被人们称为推动中国经济发展的“三架马车”之一。2004年上年，中国的出口总额已经超过日本。根据世界贸易组织(WTO)发表的最新全球贸易报告,2006年中国的出口总额为9690亿美元,稳居世界第3位。另据中国社会科学院数量经济与技术经济所吴振宇等人的最新研究成果“外贸对经济增长贡献的定量分析”，自1997年以来，中国的出口对GDP的平均贡献率大致在14% 左右，进口对GDP的贡献率大致在10% 左右。
中国出口在世界上位次的变化并不单纯是数量上的变化，而且还内含着质量上的重大变化。在对外开放初期，中国出口产品以初级产品为主，初级产品出口占出口总额的比重超过了50%，可到2004年，这一数据已下降到8%。工业制成品占出口总额的比重更是持续上升，到2005年已经超过92%。这种出口结构的变化表明，中国制造业产品的国际竞争力不断增强，中国已经成为世界制造中心之一和世界最主要的加工中心。

4、经济全球化产生技术外溢效应，有利于我国科学技术的发展，从而为经济的增长创造动力
经济全球化将大批跨国公司带入中国，又通过中外合资、中外合作过程中有约定的技术转让、国产化等正式形式而实现技术外溢效应。经济全球化带来的其它非正式形式，如员工培训、技术人员流动、产品摹仿等，也极大地推动了我国科技人员的整体实力。有的学者甚至提出了科技全球化的概念。科技全球化本身就是经济全球化发展到一定阶段的产物，是经济全球化的一个重要组成部分。一国经济的发展水平不仅仅取决于本国的科学技术知识供应状况，而且取决于整个世界范围内的科学技术知识供应状况。世界范围内研究与开发的溢出效应也能使发展中国家能够分享一部分科技全球化收益，而且有一部分发展中国家，尤其是中国，更有可能通过积极参与科技全球化进程而缩小与发达国家之间的科学技术差距。
