去年冬天，我和爸爸妈妈一块去Virginia的朋友家过圣诞节。
我们出发的那天早上，天气很不好，又阴又冷，还下着小雨。我们开着汽车一直往北去。没过多久，车上的雨水都结成了薄薄的冰。到了中午，天上开始下雪，越下越大，路面越来越滑。雨刷必须不停地打着才能看清前面的路。后来，窗上的冰越来越多，雨刷也帮不上忙了。我们只好不时停下车来把窗上的冰敲掉，再继续上路。到了下午四五点钟，我们由高速公路转上了小山路，雪还在下个不停。
我们一直住在美国南方的亚特兰大，那儿冬天很少结冰和下雪，所以爸爸不习惯在冰上开车。车开得特别慢，爸爸也显得十分紧张。尽管爸爸格外小心，可是在一个转弯的地方还是无法控制，汽车滑向另外一条平行的车道，后面的车因为停不下来撞上了我们的车。我们把车停到路边等警察来。这时天已经完全黑了。警察告诉我们，前面的山路更难开，于是我们商量找个旅店先住下来。有了前面车子失控的经验，爸爸车开得更慢了。路上所有的车子都开得像乌龟爬。山路一片黑暗，也看不见路边的房子，到哪里能找到旅店？没有办法，只能继续提心吊胆地慢慢往前行驶。
晚上10点多钟，我们终于到达了朋友家。我们的汽车除车轮外，全部包上了一层厚厚的冰。爸爸说，以后再也不想在下雪天开车旅行了。这是一次难忘的旅行，但也希望以后不要再有第二次。
