① dog days是什么意思啊
“dog days”的意思是“ 三伏天、炎暑”。
16世纪罗马天文学家发现每年天气最炎热的这几个星期，天狼星（Sirius）总与太阳共升共落，而天狼星的别号就是the Dog Star。
在拉丁文中人们用代表带雀喊狗的词蠢野根“can”来表示天狼星“canicular”。所以这段酷热期就被称为dies caniculars（天狼星的日子），英语写成了canicular days，民间用了更通俗的说法，就是dog days。
