GSIF——Giga Sampler/Studio Interface的缩写，在符合该标准的声卡上运行软件采样器Giga Sampler/Studio时，将会有出色的表现。
MME——该标准可保证声卡产品能够在所有版本的Windows9X中正常使用。
DirectSound——符合该标准的声卡将兼容于各种以DirectX为标准的软件，例如顺利运行各种游戏软件和多媒体教学软件等。
WDM——这是微软最新制定的Windows驱动程序，在Win98 SE以后版本的Windows平台中使用符合该驱动标准的声卡，将能有效地降低音频流的延迟时间。CakeWalk Sonar也专门针对WDM驱动做了优化处理。
EWDM——由韩国EgoSys公司提出，被称为“万能驱动”，它是建立在微软的WDM标准基础上的扩充，它将WDM、MME、DirectSound和ASIO、GSIF合而为一，用户在使用符合该驱动标准的声卡产品时，不需像使用其它专业声卡那样，为了不同的应用而必须在各种驱动标准之间进行切换。如果要经常使用CakeWalk Sonar、Giga Studio和各种VSTi音源，那么具备EWDM驱动的声卡将是上上之选。
采样率——指的是对原始声音波形进行样本采集的频繁程度，采样率越高，记录下的声音信号与原始信号之间的差异就越小，采样率的单位是kHz(千赫兹），专业声卡通常提供以下几种采样率：32/44.1/48/88.2/96kHz。
采样精度——是指对声音进行“模拟－数字”变换时，对音量进行度量的精确程序。采样精度越高，声音听起来就细腻，“数码化”的味道就越不明显。专业声卡支持的采样精度通常包括：16/18/20/24Bits。 失真度——是表征处理后信号与原始波形之间的差异情况，为百分比值。其值越小，说明声卡越能踏实地记录或再现音乐作品的原貌。
动态范围——是指当声音的增益发生瞬间态突变，也就是当音量骤然或突然毫米波时，设备所有名承受的最大变化范围。这个数值越大，则表示声卡的动态范围越广，就越能表现出作品的情绪和起伏。
信噪比——指的是有效信号与背底噪声的比值，由百分比表示，其值越高，则说明因设备本身原因而造成的噪声越小。
