大学毕业后我来到了我们的近邻日本,在这里我从新开始学习日语。经过艰苦的学习,我终于考上了梦寐以求的学校。由于以前是英语专业,所以在大学中也选了不少外国老师授课的英语讲义,和日本学生一起通过英语学习知识。但是这时我发现,日本学生没有一个使用英语名字。他们在自我介绍的时候无一例外,都是用日语的发音说他们的名字。不管你欧美老外认为他们的发音有多么难记,但是叫他的时候一定要说日语发音。为什么一向崇尚欧美的日本人在名字上却保持自己的原则,让外国人去适应他们,而不是主动迎合外国人?我想因为一个人的姓氏代表一种传统,一种文化,不要轻易丢弃,丢弃了自己的文化,就等于背叛,也就迷失了自我。
反过来看看我们的国人,有一次给我留下深刻印象。一次回国,我坐美西北航空从东京到北京。这架飞机本来是西雅图到北京,中间在东京停留。所以飞机上基本都是美国去中国的。坐在我前面的是中国人,带了两个小孩;我后面的也是中国人,也带了小孩。在飞行的途中,我前后的中国人对他们的孩子都说中文,而那些小孩几乎全说英文。当然这很正常,小孩在英文环境下当然说英文比较多。但是我前面的一个小孩,我听他的父亲叫他james,后面的一个女人叫她的孩子也是james,结果在空中的3个小时,我只听到james长,james短,难道这只是巧合?为什么我们的下一代不用我们自己传统的姓名,一定要起一个英文名?中国人的名字难记吗?懂日语的朋友都知道,日本的姓氏非常多,而且读法大都经常变化。作为我们同样使用汉字的中国人来说,记住日本人名字的读法都不是一件轻松的事,更何况视汉字为天书的欧美人!但是欧美人就能记住日本人的名字,因为记住一个人的名字是对这个人最起码的尊重。中国人要想在世界范围内得到更广泛的尊重,就请国人们首先尊重你们自己,尊重你们的姓氏,尊重父母给你起的,唯一能证明你身份的中国名讳吧!
