According to the statistics, only 58% of college graates could find jobs in their specialties. Why do college graates find it increasingly difficult to get a rewarding job?
One reason perhaps is that many colleges and universities fail to adapt their courses to the development of economy. Degree courses offered in these institutions of higher learning are so outdated, irrelevant and impractical that the students themselves find it hard to translate their book knowledge into real job skills. Second, there is an oversupply of graates in certain specialties.
So many of them can not enter the professions for which they are trained. College graates are valuable resources in our country. The problems they encounter in job hunting deserve more attention.

重視對口語(orality)和書面語(literacy)
的研究。近年來，從事語言學、心理學、教

單句，或多使用單一動詞結構，而很少使用
復雜的並列句或從句結構。而且，在一般會
話中，由於說話者和聽話者之間的高度參與，
說話者常使用直接引語和通俗口語語言。與
口語相反，書面語中頻繁出現的是主語、謂
語、定語、狀語、表語等的復雜的從句結構。
此外，書面語使用者常運用被動語態、過去
完成時、間接引語，以及書面化措詞等手段
來擴大表達上的時間和空間跨度。
然而切弗教授的理論也遭到不少學者的
反駁，他們對口語、書面語的二分法(dicho-
tomy)提出質疑，理由是，在口語和書面語
的比較研究中，常常只注重兩者間的不同措
