一般說來，每次考試後，閱卷老師要在很短的時間內評閱完大量的試卷，工作量非常大。盡管作文評分有具體的標准，但它仍然是主觀性較大的部分，而且寫作部分沒有「半分」的評分標准，有時我們閱卷之時的一念之差，就可能令你失去寶貴的一分。因此，這里我覺得介紹一些這些閱卷老師閱卷時的心理，對考生是極為有用的。
1.整潔的卷面和漂亮的書寫
漂亮的書寫令人賞心悅目，可使閱卷老師從疲憊不堪中解脫出來，給閱卷老師留下良好的第一印象。就我而言，每次批改作業，如遇龍飛鳳舞、字跡較為潦草者，均「押後處理」。說老實話，當改至後期，我便兩眼發直，精神極度疲憊，於是也龍飛鳳舞，草草給個分數，算是交差了。
2.字數要達到最低要求
因為作文對字數要求高，每篇小作文的字數在100-150字左右，大作文的字數必須達到160~200字左右，所以考生切記要在規定的范圍內完成自己的工作。但是，有些考生在寫作過程中總存在這樣的想法：寫的越長，閱卷老師的分數肯定會打得更高，其實未必。有時候，甚至會適得其反。試想，考生的文章是寫長了，但是考生同時又將自己的弱點暴露得「一覽無余」，那樣，考生怎麼可能得到高分呢？所以，考生應注意在寫作中長度一定要適當。

有些寫作的大作文要求用160~200詞寫出一篇高質量的議論文，其形式有圖示、漫畫、情景等專門類型。近幾年來則集中體現為靈活多變、隱含寓意的圖示/漫畫作文和具有學術分析特點的圖表作文。這要求考生要精確設置構架，內容、例子緊扣主題，並且嚴謹地遣詞造句。
