周光裕放下自行車，猛追了十多米，一把抓住了落在後面的劫匪魏祥和。
聽見同夥被抓後的哀鳴，跑在前面的劫匪宋全月拿著一把尖刀沖了過來，對著周光裕的大腿就是一刀。頓時，鮮血浸紅了褲腿。
好一個周光裕，他中刀後仍死死抓住魏祥和的頭發，赤手空拳地和兩名歹徒進行著殊死的搏鬥。搏鬥中，兇殘的宋全月再次舉起了帶血的尖刀，一下、兩下……鮮血從周光裕的臀部、後背、頸部、前胸流了出來。
但周光裕仍不鬆手。
宋全月對著周光裕的鎖骨下又是一刀。刀刃刺穿了周光裕的肺部。周光裕倒在了血泊中。
事後人們發現，周光裕身中6刀仍然堅持和歹徒搏鬥，直到肺部中了那致命的一刀。

周光裕，一個普普通通的下崗工人，用鮮血維護了城市的安寧。
了解周光裕的人都說，對他勇斗歹徒的行為一點都不感到奇怪，因為，當年他在農村插隊時，就因制止偷瓜而遭到過毆打。
後來，隊里看中了他那多管閑事的性格，讓他去看果園，結果惹得當地一些屢占果園便宜的人要揍他。
1976年，周光裕返城，起先被安排在南京鎢鉬材料廠當保管員。時間不長，他就因為堅持原則，制止一起偷拿廠里原材料事件而遭到毆打。盡管被打得鼻青臉腫，但他始終無怨無悔、盡職盡責地當好保管員。
見著危險往上沖已成為老周的習慣。當年，鎢鉬材料廠曾發生氨氣罐的輸氣管爆裂事件，就在大家被氨氣熏得頭昏眼花直流淚的時候，是周光裕連防護罩也沒戴就沖上去，關掉了閥門，避免了一場事故的發生。
難怪有人這樣評價周光裕：在是非面前他從不含糊；在危急時刻，他從不躲避。正因為如此，他才會在歹徒的尖刀下那樣大義凜然。
