上高中了，由於我中招時成績好，進了重點班。

別的同學英語成績都差不多，我們班就幾個人英語老是不及格，其中一個就有我。

那時候，人們把考上大學看成是光宗耀祖的事，就像古代中了狀元一樣，即使是能考個中專也很了不起。

國家拿錢讓你上大學，畢了業又包分配，成了國家幹部。

但是上世紀八十年代，國家貧困落後，上高中成為一個奢望，更不用說上大學了。

全河南省只有一萬多考生有機會上大學，可見那時候大學是多麼難考。

我那時候唯一奢望的是能考上大學。

我身體不好，所以就把全部希望寄託到考大學上，希望考上大學跳出「農門」。

英語成績上不去我很著急，我下決心自學！我把初一到高中的英語課本都找出來，從最基礎學起。
