根據酸的氧化性的強弱,可以分為強氧化性酸和非強氧化性酸。常見的強氧化性酸包括濃硫酸和硝酸。
酸的通性包括:
一、跟指示劑反應,紫色石蕊試液遇酸變紅色,BTB試液遇酸變黃色,但無色酚酞試液遇酸不變色。
二、跟活潑金屬(金屬活動性順序表中比氫強的金屬)發生置換反應,放出氫氣,並在溶液里生成鹽,但是強氧化性的酸(如硝酸、濃硫酸)除外,它們與金屬反應的時候,生成的是鹽類、二氧化硫(二氧化氮或一氧化氮)和水。此外,強氧化性的酸會和非金屬反應,生成酸性氧化物(或其對應的酸)、鹽和水。
