2、標點符號要寫在正確的位置上。句號(.)、逗號(，)及省略號(?)要寫在緊靠第三線(基準線)的上方，而不是在第二格(主體格)中間。冒號(:)和分號(;)的下端分別與(.)、(，)的位置相同，上端稍低於第二線(主體線)。引號(「」)與大寫字母的上端相齊。省字型大小(或表示名詞所有格的符號)(’)大致比字母i的點高出一些。(?)和(!)大致與大寫字母同樣高低。連字元號(-)及破折號(——)應寫在第二格(主體格)當中。
3、字母與字母不論是否連寫，間隔要均勻、適應、不要靠得太緊，也不要離得太遠。單詞之間必須有適當的距離。一般來說，以空出小寫字母a的寬度為宜。
4、在書寫時，我們還要注意盡量不把一個單詞拆開移行。萬一要移行，則必須以音節為單位進行，如revolution這個詞，依照音節移行的原則可以按re-，revo-, revolu-這幾種方法移行，而不能隨心所欲在任何地方拆開單詞進行移行。
