一. in,on在方位名詞前的區別
1. in表示A地在B地范圍之內。如：
Taiwan is in the southeast of China.
2. on表示A地與B地接壤、毗鄰。如：
North Korea is on the east of China.
二. at, in, on在表示時間上的區別
1. at指時間表示：
（1）時間的一點、時刻等。如：
They came home at sunrise （at noon, at midnight, at ten o』clock, at daybreak, at dawn）.
（2）較短暫的一段時間。可指某個節日或被認為是一年中標志大事的日子。如：
He went home at Christmas （at New Year, at the Spring Festival, at night）.
2. in指時間表示：
（1）在某個較長的時間（如世紀、朝代、年、月、季節以及泛指的上午、下午或傍晚等）內。如：
in 2004, in March, in spring, in the morning, in the evening, etc
（2）在一段時間之後。一般情況下，用於將來時，謂語動詞為瞬間動詞，意為「在……以後」。如：
He will arrive in two hours.
謂語動詞為延續性動詞時，in意為「在……以內」。如：
These procts will be proced in a month.
注意：after用於將來時間也指一段時間之後，但其後的時間是「一點」，而不是「一段」。如：
He will arrive after two o』clock.
3. on指時間表示：
（1）具體的時日和一個特定的時間，如某日、某節日、星期幾等。如：
On Christmas Day（On May 4th）, there will be a celebration.
（2）在某個特定的早晨、下午或晚上。如：
He arrived at 10 o』clock on the night of the 5th.
（3）准時，按時。如：
If the train should be on time, I should reach home before dark.
三. at, in和on表示地點時的區別
1. at表示地點：
（1）用於指較小的地方。如：
I shall wait for you at the station.
（2）用於門牌號碼前。如：
He lives at 115 Zhongshan Road.
2. in表示地點：
（1）用於指較大的地方。如：
He lives in Shanghai.
（2）雖然是很小的地方，如果說話人住在那裡，也可用in。商店、學校、機關等，若看作一個地點（point）用at，若看作一個場所（place）用in。如：
I met him at the post-office.
I』m now working in the post-office.
3. on表示地點，一般指與面或線接觸，意為「在……上；在……旁」。如：
The picture was hanging on the wall.
New York is on the Hudson River.
be是一個連系動詞，它有自己不同的形式
現在時：be 進行時：being 過去時：was/were 過去分詞：been
它的後面必須跟形容詞或名詞作表語，與之構成系表結構，充當句子的謂語。
i am a student主語：i 謂語：am a student（系表結構）
being是它的現在進行時態，一般不單獨用，而是用於現在進行時的被動語態。（being+動詞過去分詞）
the bike is being repaired.單車正在被修理中。
it is being finished by him這正在被他完成中。
been是它的過去分詞，也不一般單獨使用，而是用於現在完成時、過去完成時以及需要它的句子。
i have been here for a long time.我已經到這里有一段時間了。
至於你的問題，這與你想表達的意思有關。
你的工作是什麼？
what do you do? what is your job?
那麼這里選用do和is有什麼根據呢？
第一句裡面，第二個do是指你做什麼，也就是你的工作，就是一個實義動詞。按中文說，what you do已經足夠了。可是英語裡面就不行，必須跟一個助動詞，也就是do.
這里就有了一個結論：當句子中有動詞時，我們就用助動詞do或是does.如果沒有動詞時，我們就選用is或是are，也就是b「Be」除了原形的「be」之外，還有另外七種形式：am, is, are, been, being, was, were.
在句子中，「be」可以是主動詞(The Principal Verb)或助動詞(The Auxiliary Verb).
當主動詞時，「be」在性質上屬於接系動詞(The Linking Verb), 後面要有名詞、形容詞、地方副詞或短語作補足語(The Complement)。例如：
1. The man is a science teacher.
2. Mary's new dresses are colourful.
3. I have been there before.
4. Mother is in the kitchen now.
這四個都是陳述句，可以變成疑問句，方法簡單，把主語和「be」或助動詞對換位置即可：

6. Are Mary's new dresses colourful?
7. Have I been there before?
8. Is mother in the kitchen now?
當「be」要在祈使句中出現時，它必須借重助動詞「do」或「don't」之助，如：

10. Do be obedient!

「Be」有兩種縮寫法，如下：

13. You're not...../You aren't...
但「am + not」的縮寫法只有一個：

有人用「ain't」, 但這並不是標准英語。
談過了「be」作主動詞的功能，現在看看「be」作助動詞時，有些什麼用法：
1.「Be + 現在分詞」以組成進行式時態(Continuous Tenses)，如：

2.「Be + 過去分詞」以組成被動語態(The Passive Voice),如：

當陳述句的謂語是實義動詞時，助動詞do通常用於疑問句和否定句中。如：
I go to school every day.
我每天上學。
Do you go to school every day?
你每天都上學嗎？
I don」t go to school every day.
我不是每天都上學。
另外，助動詞do還可用於強調句中，用於強調謂語動詞。如：
將助動詞do及do 的相應形式放於動詞前，而動詞要用原形。又如：
I did tell him.
我的確告訴他了。
He does like playing football.
他的確喜歡踢球。
其餘時候do作動詞原形，表示做.
