外教復證制書，在國內基本上tesol、tefl和tesl外教證書都已經被混用了，三者沒有被嚴格的區別，都被作為外教資格證來看待。目前國內高校和專業的英語培訓機構招聘外教都會要求外籍教師要有三個證書之一。如第一學國際教育、大嘴外教、EF、華爾街、CEC英語、韋博英語、ABC英語和新東方的外教，此類機構都嚴格規定外教要有以上三個證書之一。需要提供本人護照、有效簽證、本科及本科以上學歷證書、專家證、住宿登記證明，首次申請還需要提供健康證明，外籍教師滿足錄用條件並被錄用後，學校或培訓機構須在出入境管理部門登記備案。
