臨近四級考試還有一個月的時間，不妨將該月平均劃分三期，前10天為第一期，中間10天為第二期，最後10天為第三期(可按自身情況制定不同時間間隔，但確保三階段)。之所以如此，是基於所謂的過程化管理理論，即將目標散化並合理置於各管理階段中，以有效完成階段性管理任務，從而實現最終目標。而且，從實際操作角度來說，對三個10天的分別操控，難度上大大低於對一個30天的操控，考生可以在充實有效地復習過程中不知不覺完成最後的備考直至沖刺。
那麼這三期中，前期重點為閱讀和聽力，中期重點為寫作(含翻譯)和聽力。最後一期為全套模擬題訓練。之所以如此安排，是因對閱讀和寫作而言，前者目標更難達至，故置前，只因閱讀作為一種輸入過程，不由己身，視輸入對象而有不同心理感觸和答題反應;而寫作，作為一種輸出過程，由己而發，得分高低跟內心句型儲存量成正比，在模版盛行的今天，倒是可以通過多背記一些普適性優秀句型，從而得分，不會毫無斬獲。另外，這三期中聽力是從始至終貫穿的，它除了起到良好的催眠作用外，每天堅持兩個小時的精聽和一個小時的泛聽對提高聽力成績很有幫助，它最能證明堅持就是勝利的道理。精聽可以往年真題或模擬題(甚或六級聽力題目)為材料，並做題，重點是長對話和短文聽力，泛聽即找來一些新聞類(BBC/VOA/CRI)或者網路下載聽力材料進行訓練，無需做題。相信這樣點面結合，堅持30天左右，會親眼看到成效。
下面是具體的操作建議。
(1)前期----第一個10天期間，重點：閱讀和聽力。
上午：首先閱讀然後聽力。題目來源即是往年真題，若已做過，再快速做一遍，對於曾做錯的題目進行重復回看，教訓要吸取，痛楚要記恨，如："沉著氣地將四個選項看完後再做選擇，不可輕易選擇著急付出"，並將此類教訓醒目地貼於每天必看之處，(如床頭，鏡前等等)。做完上述內容後若有時間，還可選擇近幾年的六級閱讀進行訓練。其實閱讀過程最是學習過程，很多人通過備考，英語水平提高了，這其中，大量閱讀題目的練習，功不可沒。做題時要全神貫注，抓緊時間，自我營造考場氣氛，不可拖沓沒有管束，因為四級考試是限時考試，不僅要求正確度，還要求速度。無他，唯手熟而。另外，在閱讀中遇見的好句型，尤其是那些讀後令人微笑的句子不妨及時採集，通過背誦從而擁有它們。對於聽力，前面已有所述。下午：做一篇作文。所以前期至少可以完成10篇作文，不過，可預見的是由於上午的辛勞，下午的寫作可能已經無力而為，那麼，晚上進行一篇吧。
上述過程，重復10天，試一下，一生也就這么一回。
(2)中期----第二個10天期間，重點：寫作和聽力。
上午：寫作和聽力。關於寫作，此時要多遍抄寫乃至默寫所心儀的模版和句型，一開始抄寫感覺是在抄襲別人作品，其實抄上四五遍，也就成為自己的了。考生可以放下一個掛慮，即模版會給分嗎?答案是肯定的，這鑒於如此一個事實：四級考試是非競爭性非排他性考試(考研就是競爭性考試)且是大學生們所面臨的第一個英語考試，旨在考察學生對基本句型基本句式結構的掌握。所以大可放心。當然，若能私有一套獨家高級模版最好不過，不妨暫時珍視私藏之，自私從來都是推動社會發展的最真誠實效的心理動力。抄寫完模板後，要臨摹寫出2篇作文，依舊選擇真題來做，做完四級的便找來六級的。下午：進行閱讀，相比第一期可以減少閱讀量，聽力依舊保持。
如此，進行10天，你已經距離成功更近了，堅持吧!
(3)後期----第三個10天，重點：全套模擬題。
按各個考試項目的考場出現順序進行模擬，定好時間，嚴格遵守，自我評定分數，告訴自己不以分高而喜不以分低而悲。因為只是個模擬貨色，不值得動容動心。
保證一天一套，多多益善，既可真題，也可模擬題，做到8~9~10套即可。
