什麼是迪士尼？
英文單詞：Disney
其實這個單詞本身的意思很簡單，它就是一個姓氏名稱。但是讓我們看看詞典里的解釋是什麼。
《美國傳統詞典/American Heritage Dictionary?》（美國最權威的詞典）對此詞條的解釋：
Disney

Walter Elias Known as 「Walt.」(1901-1966)
American animator, showman, and film procer. Noted for his creation of the cartoon characters Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, he proced the first animated film with sound, Steamboat Willie (1928), and the first full-length animated feature, Snow White (1938).
迪士尼，華特爾·伊利斯（平時一般是「華特」）(1901-1966)
美國動畫片製作家、演出主持人和電影製片人，以創作卡通人物米老鼠和唐老鴨聞名，他製作了世界第一部有聲動畫片《威利汽船》 (1928年)和第一部動畫長片《白雪公主》 (1938年*)。
*實際上《白雪公主》是在1937年12月21日首映的。
看來這個單詞已經有了具體的意思，更系統的說，迪士尼這個詞有以下幾個意思。
姓氏名稱：Disney
很自然，這個世界上迪士尼家族所有的人都姓迪士尼，比如當今的 Roy E. Disney 先生 等。
華特迪士尼先生，特指其人
華特迪士尼 ( Walt Disney ) 先生，全名 華特爾·伊利斯·迪士尼 ( Walter Elias Disney ) 。他是迪士尼公司的創辦人之一（另一位是他的哥哥 Roy Oliver Disney - 羅伊迪士尼先生）。
換句話說平時如果說迪士尼先生，如果沒有文章特別的環境或者特別說明，一般也都是指華特迪士尼先生。
華特迪士尼公司，特指此公司
華特迪士尼公司英文名字為：The Walt Disney Company (TWDC)，總部位於美國加利福尼亞州伯班克。是一個全球性的跨媒體綜合娛樂公司。
迪士尼，品牌名稱
一個娛樂品牌，2005年 Interbrand/BusinessWeek 的世界100強品牌（按照品牌價值）排名為第7位。
其實平時這個最為常見。
迪士尼主題樂園，特指
有人會這樣說「你去過迪士尼嗎？」，「我想要迪士尼的門票」，這裡面迪士尼的意思就是迪士尼主題樂園，而在所有的主題樂園中，加州迪士尼樂園被特指的情況又最多。一般只有中國（包括港澳台）才會用這種特指方法。
關於Disney的中文名稱
這個是平時大家最常問的問題之一了，大家一定平時經常看到「迪斯尼」和「迪士尼」。但是他們究竟有什麼區別呢？
原來在1995年以前，中國大陸、香港、台灣地區的Disney名字根據當地語言的發音翻譯是不同的，下面就是一個列表：
大陸：Disney - 迪斯尼，Walt Disney - 沃爾特·迪斯尼
香港：Disney - 迪士尼，Walt Disney - 和路·迪士尼
台灣：Disney - 狄斯耐，Walt Disney - 華特·狄斯耐
但是在1995年，迪士尼公司為了統一中國的市場，在經過了認真的討論之後，決定在中國統一使用「迪士尼」這個名字。也就是下面的：
統一官方中文名字：Disney - 迪士尼，Walt Disney - 華特迪士尼
還記得那是在《米老鼠》雜志1995年第5期（封面藍色調，人物是唐老鴨）的內封《米老鼠》的通知欄目，有一篇叫做《關於「迪斯尼」改名字》的文章第一次向廣大迪士尼迷發布了這個消息，並且從1995年第6期開始《米老鼠》全面採用「迪士尼」這個名字。（比如封面的標語「真正原版迪士尼卡通」字樣，原來就是「迪斯尼」）。我們真的對這種行為稱道！
但是很可惜，由於種種原因，「迪士尼」這個名字在我們大陸地區並不像台灣那樣得到應有的推廣，比如大多數包括電視報紙的媒體仍然有很多使用「迪斯尼」的情況，而且中國的語言權威詞典裡面也沒有對這個詞條進行修訂，甚至有少數的官方產品也使用「迪斯尼」這個現在已經不是官方譯名的名字。
但是迪士尼是真正的官方中文名字這個事實是不能改變的。比如你可以看到正版迪士尼影碟和圖書都是用的是「迪士尼」。
所以我們作為真正的迪士尼迷，以後都使用「迪士尼」這個官方名字吧

米老鼠
Mickey Mouse is a comic animal cartoon character who has become a symbol for The Walt Disney Company. He was created on November 18, 1928 by Ub Iwerks and voiced by Walt Disney, and the mouse has evolved from being simply a character in animated cartoons and comic strips to become one of the most recognizable symbols in the world.
Walt Disney himself voiced Mickey Mouse from 1928 until 1946, when sound effects man James G. MacDonald took over the role. Mickey has been voiced since 1983 by Wayne Allwine, MacDonald's former apprentice.
Mickey Mouse debuted on November 18, 1928 in the animated cartoon Steamboat Willie. His comics debut was January 13, 1930 when he got his own comic strip. The strip was first written by Walt Disney himself (and drawn by Ub Iwerks), but soon Floyd Gottfredson took over the strip and continued to draw it for decades.
