Wuhan Textile University (WTU) is one of the comprehensive institutions of higher learning incorporating science, engineering, liberal arts, economics, management and ecation, with special emphasis on engineering.

With the aim of cultivating textile specialists and serving Hubei's textile instry, Wuhan Textile University（WTU） founded in 1958 in central China, Hubei's capital Wuhan, which is known as「the thoroughfare leading to nine provinces」with many universities and talents. Formally named Wuhan Institute of Textile Engineering WIST, it was one of the eight colleges directly under the administration of the former Ministry of Textile Instry. In 1998 when its administration was transferred to Hubei Province, it was renamed as Wuhan University of Science and Engineering (WUSE) in 1999. WTU is now under the co-building of the Province and the Ministry of Ecation. It is the only college in Central and Southwest China that features studies in textile and apparel. In 2010, it was renamed as Wuhan Textile University (WTU) by Ministry of Ecation.

WTU is composed of 19 colleges and 2 teaching departments, offering 42 bachelor』s programs and 24 master』s programs to over 30,000 students, taught by over 1000 staff, among those more than 400 are professors or associate professors. 上面觀點本人不是蠻同意，我是武漢紡織大學的學生今，也就是在你所說的東湖校區讀書，東湖校區與南湖，陽光校區有點生疏這一點也不假，但是你要說東湖校區其他的缺點那我就不贊同了。
宿舍舊那是因為東湖校區（湖北財專）她是一所有這歷史的學校，試問哪一所學校的本部不是宿舍較舊像武大，華工，至於你所說的財大我就不知道了···你們那邊是新校區學，校新宿舍我無話可說，宿舍舊業有它的好處那就是寢室費用較便宜。還有就是交通我不吹牛我們東湖校區的交通那是沒話說，首先是我們的地理位置他在武漢是2環接近內環徐東大街，其次就是我們學校在美麗的東湖之邊從學校到東湖風景區不到300米，再有就是我們學校邊有一個大型的公交終點站（到漢口，武昌，漢陽的車都有）交通極為便利。

說到學校那就不得不談到學校的教育，其他的校區我不談就講東湖校區，首先這邊收過來的本科生的成績分數都是相當的高，我那時是這邊第一屆2本1的本科生，一般是高出分數線20分左右。其次就是我們這邊的注冊會計師方向專業如果你的分數線不是在一本左右的分數你報考這個專業是沒什麼希望的。其次就是湖北財專（東湖校區），我只是想說一句我們財專是一所專科學校但是要報考我們財專的學生他的高考成績如果沒能達到三本一得分數線是報考不上的（湖北省，其他省市我不太清楚）那大家自己試想一下：一所專科學校她沒有好的教學樓，沒有好的宿舍，沒有較大的面積但是為什麼那些能上三類，甚至是二本二的學生會選擇報考湖北財專？？？再次就是我們武漢紡織大學東湖校區的老師他們都是很厲害的，在老師們自身的教學能力以及社會上的人際關繫上都是很不錯的，別的專業我不說就說會計學院的一些審計，會計老師他們就特別的棒，財經學院的那些財政，稅收，老師都很不錯····再有就是有的人不了解我們東湖校區就在那裡瞎說，要說我們本科生到了東湖校區與其他的校區交流少這一點一點也不假出現這種現象是有他的主客觀原因的，主觀原因就是武漢紡織大學現在和湖北財專的合並現在還處於一種融合期，融合期出現這種現象在正常不過了。客觀原因就是幾個校區相隔的比較遠一般沒什麼重大的事情學生也不願意往那邊跑，要說讀書館財專也有自己的讀書館，一卡通等等，這邊的學生都不過去其他的校區，統一的一卡通也沒什麼用呀？用錢來搞這樣的面子工程還不如拿些錢出來多為學生辦點實事，這點我覺得學校做的還不錯？
有些人覺得我們本科生到了財專會受什麼委屈其實也
不盡然，財專有1200的學生公寓是先提供給本科生住，還有就是我們來的那年學校為了迎接本科生的到來修了運動場廠，1200的學生公寓，為本科生請來來外教，我想其他的學校非英語專業的學生是應該沒有外教的吧，但是我們東湖校區就不一樣···還有其他的我就不想一一的說來。
還有就是我們湖北財專以前不是財大也想合並嗎，我可是聽說那時我們財專可是鳥都冒鳥財大耶！
總之如果你到了東湖校區第一眼你會感覺到很沮喪慢慢的你就會喜歡上這個地方···
她是以個會教你做人，讓你學會做人的地方，選擇她不會錯。
