每个人都有五官，它们长在各自的地方，有各自的工作，它们各有所长、各有所短。
眼睛是人心灵的窗户。有的人眼睛大，也有人眼睛小。可是眼睛除睡觉外，一直不停地工作，勤勤恳恳。白天一起床。走路时，其他的器官都不忙，只有他一个睁着看路；看书时，只有他在睁着；找什么东西，也是他到处看。可是好事却轮不到他。譬如，冬天的时候，其他的四个器官，被包得严严实实，只有他露在外面。
鼻子位居眼睛的下面，占了一个中心位置，每次吃饭，总是他先闻到气味，好象饭是为他一个准备的！鼻子可以闻到气味，好事总离不开他。别人闻花，花的香气，人闻到了总会感谢自已的鼻子。
耳朵站在脸的两边，像两个侍卫，有什么声音他一定听到。例如，在路上车的铃声，耳朵听到了提醒人，人却从来不感谢，所以好事从来不和耳朵结缘。不过一旦耳朵没听到声音，受恨的一定是他，“没用”的也是他。
常和眼睛合作的是眉毛，当雨天时，眉毛给眼睛挡雨，不让眼睛淋到雨水；当夏天的汗水流下来时，又是眉毛将汗水挡住；灰从上面落下，是眉毛挡住。可是眉毛却被人认为是摆设，从来不去重视。
嘴巴是一个独立的，他很少去和别的器官做朋友，只是自已干自已的工作，不过他从来不被人忽视，好事除了和鼻子做朋友，就是和嘴巴做玩伴。比如说，吃饭，如果没有嘴，人就无法去吃饭；说话时，他只要张嘴，可是却至关重要；嘴的一部分――嘴唇，更是一个美丽的象征。
