颐和园是古代皇帝玩耍的地方，我们一跨进东宫门，就看见许多奇形怪状的石头，传说这颐和园的里面石头非常多，其中最著名的就是败家石，因为颐和园的大门只有一米宽，而这块大石头从哪个方向量都不止一米宽，但为了将这块大石头搬进颐和园，把颐和园的大门都给砸了，所以称为败家石。颐和园里面还有好多好多石头，有的石头像一个大竖条，有的像大珊瑚……形态各异，数不胜数。
再往里走，就看见了仁寿殿，仁寿殿门口有一只龙和一只凤，但平常情况下都是龙在右，凤在左，慈禧为了改变男尊女卑的传统，就把凤放在右边，龙在左边，而且凤的脚下踩满了金银财宝，龙的脚下却什么也没有，光秃秃的。仁寿殿是皇上上朝听政和会见外宾的地方。
乐寿堂则是皇帝的生活区，里面摆满了生活用品，有红色的被子，还有一些古老的桌椅，还摆有一些雕刻精美的花瓶。这里还面临着昆明湖，外面还有许多树木花草，环境非常好，景色也非常的美丽，怪不得皇帝在里面住呢！
再后面是玉澜堂，玉澜堂虽然名字好听，却是天子监狱。因为慈禧为了反对光绪皇帝变法，对外声称皇上有病，把他关在这里，而自己却独揽大权。
往里走，我们还看见了一些图画，上面有着慈禧和一位大太监李莲英的画像，慈禧那时已经七十岁了，可看起来还是很年轻，很有威严的样子。
我终于看见了我们书上学过的长廊了。绿漆的柱子，红漆的栏杆，柱子上面雕有许多的蝙蝠。长廊顶端都画有精美的图画，共有14000多幅。主要有三国演义、西游记、山水风景、花鸟鱼虫等，每一幅都惟妙惟肖、栩栩如生，让我们大饱眼福。
最后，我们来到了昆明湖。湖水淡蓝淡蓝的，在一片雾气中显得非常神秘，一群群的小鱼在湖中追逐嬉戏。湖中还有几艘供游人玩耍的游艇，在向远方驶去。
颐和园真美呀！离开时我还意犹未尽。
