事情是这样的：我们一群小孩在客厅里水果，大家都争先恐后地去抢水果吃。我的7岁的小表弟和12岁的大堂弟要抢夺一串葡萄，堂弟相对高大，有力气，一把抓住葡萄梗，把大的好的的葡萄都摘走，然后把小的、烂的葡萄连带梗扔给小表弟。小表弟也不是吃素的，他先躲过扔过来的葡萄，然后快速捡起来，趁大堂弟不注意，用力砸向大堂弟。遭到突然袭击的大堂弟被激怒了，立刻猛烈的还击，恃强凌弱，把小表弟的手臂都打红了。我为了替小表弟打抱不平，也加入了战团，一场“战争”就这样拉开了序幕。我拿起了几颗葡萄扔向大堂弟，大堂弟躲过了，但小堂弟没防备，被击中，结果他也加入战团，一场混战。几番乱战下来，我们逐渐从多方战争过度到两方战争，我和两个表弟是一方，堂弟们则结成联盟。堂弟们人多势众，我方势弱，逐渐处于下风，于是我们战略撤退。我把两个表弟领上了城——我在二楼的房间，马上锁上了门，又把另一扇门给锁上了，这外面是走廊，也就是我们的城墙。我们有大量的树果子，很小，可以扔。我们在上面扔，他们居然在下面捡，然后一边来扔我们。但我们居高临下，基本能击中“敌方”，而我方损失很小。我方反败为胜。
中午吃饭了，桌上是菜，不能站扔，只能舌战，你一句，我一句，这样骂来骂去不分胜负。终于吃饭了，我们还是照骂不误，过了10分钟舌战才停止了。
下午，我们又开始扔东西了。发现他们还在捡。我们就走进城——我的房间内去看电视了。傍晚，我们走了下去，跟他们“握手言和”，说：“我们去比赛游泳吧。”他们答应了。我们来到河边，比赛谁先游到对岸再返回来就赢了。我比大堂弟先游到对岸，后方的拉拉队拼命自己组的队员加油我游到对岸后觉得有点累，先休息了一会儿，随后马上返回，结果打成平局。第2次表弟和另一个堂弟比赛。他们在返回的途中撑不住了，我们马上把救生圈扔给他们。这次，是表弟赢了。最后，我们五局三胜赢了。
总结这场“战争”，我方大获全胜。踏着夕阳的暮光，我方凯旋回家，敌方垂头丧气！一场“战争”就这样拉开了序幕

I moved here three years ago, and because of my business, I needed to fly both to Taiwan and the United States often. When I traveled alone, I felt lonely because I didn’t speak English well. I made a decision that I had to learn English and study very hard.
I like to be in Rita Colina’s class at the Chinese Community Center in Houston. I have many chances to speak and talk to others. Before I came to the class, I always walked away when I met any foreigner. I know that pronunciation, grammar and conversation are very important for me so I came to this class. It’s completely different now. I try to communicate with Americans in English by myself. It’s really great for a person like me to live here. Now I like to talk to foreigners. I like to go to American supermarkets, Starbuck’s coffee shops and the post office. I can drive to anywhere I like to go because I know the road signs. Not only the skill of life becomes more flexible, but also I really like to live here. I learn English in four ways:
First of all, I listen to what the teacher teaches in class. Then I keep speaking ring the class. Second, I do my homework right away when I get home. I memorize at least five vocabulary words everyday.
Third, I listen to American radio stations, and I watch the news channels and other American programs with my family everyday. I ask them whatever I don’t know.
Finally, I go to American stores as often as possible so I will have more chances to learn more new words, and find any chance to talk to Americans in English.
Anyway, the most important thing is not to be afraid to open your mouth. It doesn’t matter even though you speak incorrectly. It’s a good start. I’m very appreciative of the teaching and encouragement from Ms. Colina. That is the key to open the door of learning English for me.

Wisdom enables us to distinguish right from wrong. It also teaches us restraint and tolerance, two effective means of preventing wayward killing and destruction. Another cure is religion. Most religions in the world advocate philanthropy and forgiveness, which dissolve hatred and revenge. Consequently, ecation and religion working side by side can transform a barbarian into a civilized person. With wisdom and love, the human race as a whole will detest war and embrace peace.
