4.诚实

大概这种方法能高度地调动人神经细胞的兴奋感，资华筠在妈妈的督促下做作业的效率很高，常常毫不费力地达到母亲的要求，并且正确率很高。渐渐地，她也养成了按时完成作业的好习惯，如果没做完作业就叫她去玩，她心里还真有些别扭呢！

面对如此严厉、不留情面的妈妈，资华筠心里也有些怕她。一次，资华筠做错了数学题，老师用红笔打了个叉。其实并不是什么天大的事情，但是一想到对自己如此严格的母亲，她就有些犹豫，因为她怕妈妈的批评。想来想去，还是自己偷偷把那个叉子改掉了。但是事后她心里很不安，觉得这样做有悖于妈妈平日里的教诲。经过一番思想斗争，终于还是把这件事告诉了妈妈，并且乖乖地等待妈妈更加严厉的批评。可是出乎资华筠的意料，妈妈听了她的话之后没有发火，而首先微笑着表扬她能主动承认错误，接着又指出：“撒谎最可耻，什么坏事情都是因为不诚实引起的。”最后，妈妈，才带着她分析错题的原因。
妈妈这样做，既能很好地教育孩子，又顾全了资华筠的自尊心。
5.谦虚
当阿道夫•贝耶尔10岁生日那一天。他原以为爸爸妈妈会像其他小朋友的父母那样，为他热热闹闹地庆祝一番。可是这一天：母亲一大早就把他领到外婆家里，在那里消磨了一整天，根本没有提做生日的事。贝耶尔很不高兴，在回家的路上，一直嘟着嘴不说话，母亲见了，语重心长地说：“我生你的时候你爸爸41岁，还是个大老粗。现在他51岁了，可还跟你一样，正在努力读书，明天还要参加考试。我不愿意因为你的生日而耽误他的学习，时间对他来说实在太宝贵了，你现在还小，也要学会珍惜时间。”

贝耶尔在大学读书时，有机化学家贾拉古教授的名字传遍了德国。不过，那时这位教授还很年轻。一些科学界耆宿总是提出这样那样的问题挑剔他。有一天，贝耶尔和父亲在一起闲谈，提起了贾拉古教授。贝耶尔说：“贾拉古只比我大6岁……”言外之意是这个人并没有什么了不起。
父亲听了很不满意，他对贝耶尔说：“大六岁怎么样，难道就不值得你学习吗？我读地质学时，老师的年龄比我小30岁的都有，我一样恭恭敬敬地称他们为老师，认认真真地听他们讲课。你要记住，年龄和学问不一定成正比。不管是谁，只要有知识，就应该虚心向他学习。”
6.爱国
从1974年开始，著名足球运动员赵达裕几次报考省级专业足球队都因为个子矮而落选，三番五次的失败让他感到前路迷茫，十分灰心。而此时，赵达裕的父亲心里更不是滋味，有哪个父母不希望自己的孩子出人投地呢？但是，他深深地懂得，一个人失去机会固然可怕，但更可怕的却是丧失信念，儿子此时此刻需要的是鼓励和支持。
因此他努力克制自己的感情，为了不让儿子因此失去信心、放弃努力，他便给儿子将“卧薪尝胆”的故事，鼓励儿子一定要咬紧牙关，不能轻易服输，要做个有骨气的人。他还给儿子介绍足球运动员胡登辉的事迹，他虽个子小，单因为球踢得特别好，照样进了国家队。他还带儿子去见一位广东球星，请他介绍小个子打大个子的绝招，千方百计要使儿子树立起这样的信念：“只要你比别人强，就一定会有人来要。”
在爸爸的鼓励支持下，赵达裕重新燃起信心，从未放弃努力。辛勤的耕耘，终于嬴来了初步的收获。1975年，赵达裕跨进广州队，参加了全国青年赛。而这时，父亲却因病住进了医院。面对如此突如其来的变故，父亲仍然没有放弃让儿子继续努力进取的愿望。他要求儿子保持信心，继续拼搏，千万不要因为自己而耽误了训练，这就是作为父亲的他最大的、也是唯一的心愿！
有志者事竟成。凭借自己的不懈拼搏，小个子赵达裕终于跨进了国家队，为中国足球的“翻身”，拼搏在绿茵场上。他实现了为国争光的愿望。
