英文单词：Disney
其实这个单词本身的意思很简单，它就是一个姓氏名称。但是让我们看看词典里的解释是什么。
《美国传统词典/American Heritage Dictionary?》（美国最权威的词典）对此词条的解释：

迪士尼，华特尔·伊利斯（平时一般是“华特”）(1901-1966)
美国动画片制作家、演出主持人和电影制片人，以创作卡通人物米老鼠和唐老鸭闻名，他制作了世界第一部有声动画片《威利汽船》 (1928年)和第一部动画长片《白雪公主》 (1938年*)。
*实际上《白雪公主》是在1937年12月21日首映的。
看来这个单词已经有了具体的意思，更系统的说，迪士尼这个词有以下几个意思。

很自然，这个世界上迪士尼家族所有的人都姓迪士尼，比如当今的 Roy E. Disney 先生 等。
华特迪士尼先生，特指其人
华特迪士尼 ( Walt Disney ) 先生，全名 华特尔·伊利斯·迪士尼 ( Walter Elias Disney ) 。他是迪士尼公司的创办人之一（另一位是他的哥哥 Roy Oliver Disney - 罗伊迪士尼先生）。

迪士尼主题乐园，特指
有人会这样说“你去过迪士尼吗？”，“我想要迪士尼的门票”，这里面迪士尼的意思就是迪士尼主题乐园，而在所有的主题乐园中，加州迪士尼乐园被特指的情况又最多。一般只有中国（包括港澳台）才会用这种特指方法。
关于Disney的中文名称
这个是平时大家最常问的问题之一了，大家一定平时经常看到“迪斯尼”和“迪士尼”。但是他们究竟有什么区别呢？
原来在1995年以前，中国大陆、香港、台湾地区的Disney名字根据当地语言的发音翻译是不同的，下面就是一个列表：
大陆：Disney - 迪斯尼，Walt Disney - 沃尔特·迪斯尼
香港：Disney - 迪士尼，Walt Disney - 和路·迪士尼
台湾：Disney - 狄斯耐，Walt Disney - 华特·狄斯耐
但是在1995年，迪士尼公司为了统一中国的市场，在经过了认真的讨论之后，决定在中国统一使用“迪士尼”这个名字。也就是下面的：
统一官方中文名字：Disney - 迪士尼，Walt Disney - 华特迪士尼
还记得那是在《米老鼠》杂志1995年第5期（封面蓝色调，人物是唐老鸭）的内封《米老鼠》的通知栏目，有一篇叫做《关于“迪斯尼”改名字》的文章第一次向广大迪士尼迷发布了这个消息，并且从1995年第6期开始《米老鼠》全面采用“迪士尼”这个名字。（比如封面的标语“真正原版迪士尼卡通”字样，原来就是“迪斯尼”）。我们真的对这种行为称道！
但是很可惜，由于种种原因，“迪士尼”这个名字在我们大陆地区并不像台湾那样得到应有的推广，比如大多数包括电视报纸的媒体仍然有很多使用“迪斯尼”的情况，而且中国的语言权威词典里面也没有对这个词条进行修订，甚至有少数的官方产品也使用“迪斯尼”这个现在已经不是官方译名的名字。
但是迪士尼是真正的官方中文名字这个事实是不能改变的。比如你可以看到正版迪士尼影碟和图书都是用的是“迪士尼”。
所以我们作为真正的迪士尼迷，以后都使用“迪士尼”这个官方名字吧

Mickey Mouse is a comic animal cartoon character who has become a symbol for The Walt Disney Company.
