Barber paradox
A barber at Saville village made a principle himself “He only shave the man who never shave himself in the village.” So some one asked you “Who shave yours?” suddenly, the barber was silent.
The reason if he shaves himself that means he belong to the man who shave by himself, however his sign has been written: he never shave these kinds of people therefore it’s impossible he shaves himself. Instead of if let some one shave the barber, the barber will be being a person who do not shave himself; however, his sign has been written he shave men they never shave by themselves.
According to this he should have shave himself. Obviously, no matter how reasons the barber’s word is paradox.
Robber’s problem
Robbers robbed a businessman then he bound him on a tree. They wanted to tease him before they kill him. A head of them said: “Actually, I want to kill you immediately however, I want to give you a chance of survival before you are dying. You answer me I will kill you or not, if you give me a right answer I will let you live otherwise, I will kill you. I will keep my promise.”
The clever businessman thought for a while. Then he said: “you will kill me.” this time the robber fell into the problem, if I kill you that shows you said right, I should let you live. However, If let you live that shows you said wrong I should kill you. The robber never thought he will fall in a dilemma.
Originally, the robber thought the businessman couldn’t escape the death. Unexpectedly, the businessman beat the rap though his wisdom. He admired businessman intelligence and let him live immediately.
A lot of funny questions like this. Such as God can do anything but, does he can proce a stone even he is not able to lift?
The liar Paradox
The 6th century BC a philosopher Epimenides who lived at Crete Island in ancient Greece had asserted: “All the words from all Cretans are false. “ If this is true that means a Cretan Epimenides said the word right; however, in his assertion the Cretan can not say the true word. If the word from Epimenides is not true that means Epimenides told a lie. As well as his assertion was written nobody from Cretan say true word that showed he said right. Therefore no matter how explain it’s very hard keeping his story straight. This famously called the liar paradox.
The 4th century BC some philosophers in ancient Greece also developed this paradox: “the word now I am speaking is not true.” If we thought this word is right but according to the comment obviously is wrong; instead if we thought this word is wrong but the word itself represented it is not false.
Yet Mathematicians and logicians are confused with it.
The Liar paradox contains many styles. For example I asserted “you say below is wrong is that right? Please answer yes or no.” if you say “NO” that means you disagree me as well as that also means you realize that is right. Obviously that is inconsistent; if you say “Yes” that means you agree me that means you realize that is not right. So no matter how explain it still confilct.
