On thecontrary, I reckon that, in this era, young people are more attend to make thedecisions by their own viewpoints than the young people in the past do.
To begin with, young people today arecapable of gaining professional knowledge from the college, which enables themto make their decisions more proper. Our parents, when they were in the same ageas us today, had no condition to acquire the knowledge from the college. They wereall busy in making money and improving their living standard. In contrast,there are an increasing number of young people entering into the university,they are able to learn a mass of professional knowledge in there and the wisdomcultivate by the knowledge enables them more qualified to tackle thosesophisticated, sticky and demanding tasks. Last semester, when I confronted thechoice: choose chemistry or psychology to be my elective course. I believe Iwas bound to make the decision by my own in that my parents have even no ideaabout what is the psychology. People could not blame them because they use theirown studying age to create the condition so that young people today have theability to go to the university.
Apart from that, there is a big gap betweentheir parents and them in the mental perspective. Young people today have amore radical thought than their parents do. They are more likely to do thethings by following their hearts. They had a more developing idea in theirmind, which could not be understood by their parents. Last summer vacation, Igot a opportunity of being a internship in China airlines, however and meanwhile, I hada burning willingness to be a volunteer of shanghai EXPO. My parents weretrying to convince me to accept that precious chance, which will benefit me inmy future job seeking. But I considered that I was also capable of learning amass of useful things if I went to the shanghai EXPO to be a volunteer. I wantto taste that feeling of help people without any rewards. The most importantly,I could imply my English fully to practice. My English was poor and I consideredit as one of the most significant things in my life. So I would not missed thisexcellent opportunity to practice my poor English. Finally, I went to the EXPOand i got a lot of benefit from this excellent experience. I firmly believe themajor problem which makes Our parents today have no ability to understand someof our views is the generation gap. It is evitable and thus, I believe i shouldmake the decision on my own.
In a nutshell, i believe the young peopletoday are good enough to make their own choice. Therefore, I am positive withthe statement that young people are better able to make their own decisionswithout asking the advises from their parents than they did in the past.
