英語翻譯技巧：
第一、省略翻譯法
這與最開始提到的增譯法相反，就是要求你把不符合漢語，或者英語的表達的方式、思維的習慣或者語言的習慣的部分刪去，以免使所翻譯出的句子沉雜累贅。
第二、合並法
合並翻譯法就是把多個短句子或者簡單句合並到一起，形成一個復合句或者說復雜句，多出現在漢譯英的題目里出現，比如最後會翻譯成定語從句、狀語從句、賓語從句等等。
這是因為漢語句子裡面喜歡所謂的「形散神不散」，即句子結構鬆散，但其中的語意又是緊密相連的，所以為了表達出這種感覺，漢語多用簡單句進行寫作。而英語則不同，它比較強調形式，結構嚴謹，所以會多用復雜句、長句。因此，漢譯英時還需要注意介詞、連詞、分詞的使用。
第三、拆分法
當然，英譯漢的時候，就要採取完全相反的戰術——拆分法，即把一個長難句細細拆分為一個個小短句、簡單句，並適當補充詞語，是句子通順。最後，注意還需要按照漢語習慣調整語序，達到不僅能看懂而且不拗口的目標。
第四、插入法
就是把不能處理的句子，利用括弧、雙逗號等插入到所翻譯的句子中，不過這種方法多用在筆譯裡面，口譯用的非常少。

The first Arbor Day took place on April 10, 1872 in Nebraska. It was the brainchild of Julius Sterling Morton (1832-1902), a Nebraska journalist and politician originally from Michigan. Throughout his long and proctive career,
Morton worked to improve agricultural techniques in his adopted state and throughout the United States when he served as President Grover Cleveland's Secretary of Agriculture. But his most important legacy is Arbor Day.
Morton (photo, right) felt that Nebraska's landscape and economy would benefit from the wide-scale planting of trees. He set an
example himself planting orchards, shade trees and wind breaks on his own farm and he urged his neighbours to follow suit. Morton's real opportunity, though, arrived when he became a member of Nebraska's state board of agriculture.
He proposed that a special day be set aside dedicated to tree planting and increasing awareness of the importance of trees. Nebraska's first Arbor Day was an amazingsuccess. More than one million trees were planted. A second Arbor Day took place in 1884 and the young state made it an annual legal
holiday in 1885, using April 22nd to coincide with Morton's birthday. In the years following that first Arbor Day, Morton's idea spread beyond Nebraska with Kansas, Tennessee, Minnesota and Ohio all
proclaiming their own Arbor Days. Today all 50 states celebrate Arbor Day although the dates may vary in keeping with the local climate. 我們班每個星期三和星期五下午是圖書開放日，老師會把我們喜歡的圖書發放到我們手中，讓大家利用這些時間在家一飽眼福，但是隨之而來的問題：如書的破損、歸還不及時、不便於統計等等讓老師大為頭痛。為了規范管理，老師制定了圖書借閱制度，周三下午發放，周一上午老師會把班級圖書收回，清點份數，然後讓圖書管理員放回圖書角。班級的這個活動雖然給我們帶來了閱讀的快樂，但是對於老師來說，在教學工作的同時，又增加了很多工作量。班主任史老師說，寧可累一些也要給我們創造閱讀機會，讓我們多讀一些課外書。在這里我想真誠的說一句——史老師，您辛苦了！
課外書能讓我們認識更多的漢字，加強拼音鍛煉，學到許多課本上沒有的知識和精彩的句子，我們要把讀課外書這件事堅持下去，只有這樣我們才能提高寫作和閱讀水平。

在中秋節之前，語文老師說要辦一個班級圖書角。希望我們大家拿一些書來，多學習學習，讓知識面更加豐富。我們非常贊成。回到家，同學們紛紛把家裡的書拿來。一本、兩本、三本······圖書角的書積少成多，在同學們的共同努力下，到了10月10日，老師宣布：「我們班的圖書角成立了！」教室里響起一片歡呼聲。

老師讓許芸和何忠賢當圖書角的管理員。還定了幾條制度：
一、借書的人，手一定要干凈，否則不能借書；

三、每周一、二、三由許芸負責，四、五、六、七由何忠賢負責。
管理員很負責任，書面臟了擦乾凈，擦桌子，管好圖書等······

有一次我們上操回來，看見班級圖書角打開著，裡面擺滿了新書！大家馬上都大叫起來了，沒叫的也兩眼發光。聽說這些都是文老師買的，對於我這個小書蟲來說簡直是天上掉餡餅。正在我們歡呼之時，文老師進來說：「大家安靜一下！現在我來發書，我說到哪個作家的名字，喜歡這位作家寫的書的人就來拿一本。」文老師剛說完，班內立刻發出震耳欲聾的「Ye」聲！接下來是一個又一個大家熟悉的作家的名字：楊紅櫻、鄭淵潔、沈石溪……每個人都快速跑到了書堆前，挑選出了自已喜歡的書，然後心滿意足地走了。
選完書後，文老師把剩下的時間都讓交給我們讀書了，班裡安靜極了，只剩下「沙沙」的翻書聲。
後面的日子裡，我們班爆發了一股「讀書熱潮」：大家到校後，每個人都拿著書津津有味地看著，班裡安靜了許多，以前只要下午一來學校，就吵的不得了，而現在幾乎一點兒聲音也沒有，我覺的書真是個神奇的東西！

在我們班教室後面書包櫃的左角，拼裝了六塊造型別致的木板，這里裝滿了「顏如玉」，裝滿了「黃金屋」……瞧，有人好奇了吧。哈，這就是我們班的圖書角。
每當下課鈴一響，小小的圖書角就擠滿了人，不一會兒圖書都被同學借走了。我們拿著書，喜滋滋地走進知識的海洋。
在這些造型別致的書架上，擺滿了各種雜志和書籍。繪本、小說、網路探秘、軍事秘密等等。別小看這些圖書，那可是我們班32名同學一本本自發捐贈出來的。
這里就是我的樂園。這里一本本的圖書真是妙不可言。比如《網路探秘》，除了用漫畫的形式將復雜的知識講解清楚外，還有很多未知的科學呢；還有《笑貓日記》，能使你一會兒哈哈大笑，一會兒淚流滿面；還有《安妮日記》《科幻故事》《天天愛學習》等等。我最喜歡看的就是《笑貓日記》。書中的主人公叫笑貓，他很多復雜的心情都是用笑來表達的。他會微笑、狂笑、獰笑、苦笑，還會皮笑肉不笑。他最喜歡的人是馬小跳和杜真子，因為他們都是有孩子味兒的小朋友。在這一篇篇美妙溫暖的文字中，我有時會因為笑貓的調皮而哈哈大笑，有時又會為他的命運而流淚。

圖書角並不大，只有一個不到兩米的木頭書櫃靠在教室西南角上。書櫃有兩層是專門用來放書的。每天圖書管理員都會把裡面的書擺得整整齊齊，等待同學們借閱。
我是圖書角的常客。每天早上到學校，一放下書包，我就立刻飛奔到這里，津津有味地讀起書來。讀到《苦兒流浪記》中雷米的啟蒙老師皮大斯凍死在外面，我悲痛萬分；讀到《陽光姐姐小說派》中高冷小表妹的幼稚姐姐，十五歲了還喝兒童牛奶、看動畫片，我哈哈大笑；讀到《送給小狐狸的禮物》中小熊把所有糖果都拿走了，不給其它小動物的自私而霸道，我搖頭嘆息。媽媽說我讀書就像吃飯一樣香甜。可不是嘛，我每次「吃」書都「吃」得非常飽，非常香。
因為我堅持每天在圖書角讀書，並且每次都讀得很入迷，所以同學送我外號「小書蟲」。隨著讀書越來越多，我的語文成績也一步一個腳印，越來越好。我的閱讀速度變快了，知識面也擴大了。在我的帶動下，班裡越來越多的同學都喜歡上了讀書，喜歡上了我的樂園——班級圖書角。為此，我感到非常自豪。
