This year's summer vacation was most enjoyable. I spent fifteen days helping my grandparents doing farm work in the countryside， where I saw mountains and fields covered with green plants. Sometimes I went swimming in the river to the west of the village, the water in which was quite clear.
I kept a diary every day. Besides doing farm work, I helped the children in the neighborhood with their lessons. All of them showed much interest in English. They could read and write well， but they could hardly understand simple English. So every day in the morning I spent about two hours helping them improve their listening and spoken English. 一年一度的寒假即將結束，迎接我的又將是新的一個學期，在新學期即將來臨之際，我決定寫這篇文章以對我的寒假生活作一個簡單的小結。
寒假是短暫的，但是它有許多值得我們留戀的地方。短暫的3個星期就有一個星期是在過新年（另外還有一天是我的生日），而剩餘的兩個星期又要被復習、做作業、預習所充配，真正屬於我們自己的時間真的是很少，因此如何合理地安排時間成了一個很重要的問題。
這個寒假老師布置了不少的作業（還較往年多了2/3），不想暑假，雖然作業也不少，但作業總量也不過就是寒假的兩倍，充其量是6個星期的作業，還有3個星期來供我們緩沖。而寒假的時間則被整整佔得一干二凈，有時還要出去旅遊（最可恨的是寒假節假日那麼多，而暑假則根本沒有），所以我想經過這個暑假應該很多人都懂得了如何安排時間。
以前寒假天天睡懶覺（平時起床太早加天冷），現在不行了，睡到7:30就差不多了，最晚也不能超過8:00，晚上也不能早早地就上床睡覺，要到9:30才行。其間14小時，非吃飯作業莫數也，然吃飯之時，則一手拿筷，一手翻書，桌上多長米飯，湯流大瀑，飛漱其間，悲慘情形，別樣風景。故李白做詩：「飛流直下三千尺，疑是銀河落九天。」
所幸通過我們十幾天的努力奮斗，換來了寶貴的2、3天，這可是不願做（作業）奴隸的人民用血肉築起的長城（保衛自己的時間）。在這最後的2、3天中，我們打了那麼一會兒游戲，正如孫同志所說「短得你連游戲都沒有打通關」，也正如張同志所說「頂著n座大山」。2、3天的時間還沒登記我們用完，我們就又投入了預習中。
這就是我們的寒假生活，有苦也有樂。
