第二，提高自身修養和人格魅力。如果覺得沒有特長、沒有愛好可能會成為自己提高人際交往能力的一個障礙，那麼，你可以有意識地去選擇和培養一些興趣愛好。去參加一些團體活動，共同的興趣和愛好也是你與朋友建立深厚感情的途徑之一。如果真的沒有什麼興趣愛好，那麼，多讀些好書豐富自己的知識也可以改進自己的人際交往能力，因為沒有什麼比智慧和淵博更能體現一個人的人格魅力了。
第三，學習團隊精神和溝通能力。社團是微觀的社會，參與社團是步入社會前最好的磨練。在社團中，可以培養團隊合作的能力和領導才能，也可以發揮你的專業特長。但更重要的是，你要做一個誠心誠意的服務者和志願者，或在擔任學生工作時主動扮演同學和老師之間溝通橋梁的角色，並以此鍛煉自己的溝通能力。把握在大學時學習人際交往的機會，因為大學社團里的人際交往是一種不用「付學費」的學習，犯了錯誤也可以從頭來過。
