在Dan Thompson社長的帶領下，加拿大輪胎安裝公司准備給那些需要幫助的孩子們提供機會，讓他們可以去參加社區組織的體育活動。公司只能幫助4到18歲的孩子，並且參與者必須經過合作委員會的審查，以確定他們確實有經濟困難。而且社團組織申請經費的目的也應該是非盈利性的。
這個計劃是由這個前奧運游泳運動員構想出來的，目的是為了幫助孩子們通過參加一個攀登乞力馬扎羅山的籌款履行去聯系城市的游泳館。
不僅Thompson計劃在這個春天前召集一些社區的孩子參加在Javis Collegiate舉行的水上項目，就連多倫多市的市民也願意為Jarvis游泳池花大價錢。由於TDSB把這個游泳池規定為需要關閉的游泳池之一，活動因此被推遲了。
「這太瘋狂了，光是看著這些設備可能被毫無理由的關閉就感到一種罪惡感。」
兩個人的父親希望徵集5萬美元來支持多倫多學校的這個活動。

「Humberside是我們孩子們的高中，我和妻子都很喜歡運動，如果這里的游泳池還能存在幾年那該有多好。」
在東區，Christina Kaufman開辦了六年的Family Fun Fit三項全能活動就要停止了，這是因為他負擔不起到Birchmout社區參加訓練的費用。她每90分鍾需要花費235美元，而在Monarch公園訓練只需花費75美元，因為aufmann已經在這里爭取到了兩周一次的長期訓練機會。

On April 28th, my classmates and I went to the park near my school where we took part in a volunteer labor.
We got there at nine o'clock. After divided into three groups, we began to work.
Each group had their own tasks. Group one planted trees and watered flowers. Group Two picked up litter left by tourists and cleaned the benches. My group wiped all the equipment in Children's Playground. Each of us worked hard.
At about half past eleven, we finished working. Though we were tired,we were happy. It was a meaningful day for us because we had done a good deed.
五一前夕——4月28日，我和我的同學去學校附近的公園參加了一次公益勞動。
我們九點鍾到公園。分成三個小組後，我們就開始幹了起來。每個小組有各自的任務：一組種樹、澆花；二組撿拾遊人丟棄的果皮紙屑；我們組擦拭了兒童游樂場所有的設施。大家幹得都很起勁。
大約十一點半，我們結束了勞動。盡管我們都很累，卻很高興。這一天對於我們大家來說都很有意義，因為我們做了一件好事。
