這是一個五月的星期天。當格林夫人朝窗外看的時候，她在七點半的時候叫醒了她的兒子，並對他說：「起床，麥克。我們今天打算去動物園。迅速地洗完你的臉和吃完早餐。我們將要乘火車去紐約。」
