Ⅰ 適合初一的英語讀物
《中學生網路英語》（1-4）是一套原版引進的英文書籍，語言地道、內容豐富、練習題很新穎、很實用，是非常好的課後閱讀。
外語的學習，選擇原版、地道的語言素材是首要的。原版的閱讀，無論是對於學生的校內考試、還是日常生活中的實際應用都明顯優於國家統編的教材。原因很簡單、統編的教材語言的內容太狹隘、太注重所謂任務型教學的原則、到了通常的課堂教學中又偏重語法和語言點的講解、學生真正獲得的語言能力基本就是應試的能力（這個應試的能力也只是國內的考試而已、真正到了留學國外是沒有用的）。而國外的語言素材是接地氣的、和生活息息相關、很容易為學習者接受、也很容易成為學習者自己的語言能力。
《中學生網路英語》冊1的內容，有紐西蘭的Kiwi鳥、沙漠的駱駝、北極熊、河馬、海豚等動物語篇；人類為何會打哈欠、大笑、為何海水是鹹的、植物也會謀殺、有聽力障礙的人如何交流；水稻、柑橘、咖啡樹等植物；西方的布魯斯、爵士樂、搖滾樂等；不同國家的人的工作時間、高薪或低薪的職業、度假休閑等；世界各地的少數民族及其文化習俗；攀登珠峰的首位女性、獨自遠航等探險活動等等。
每篇後面的練習也很好。首先是為語篇中的句子填寫空缺的詞、再用語篇中的詞彙用到新的語句中、再回答語篇內容理解的問題，都是在文中找尋內容，這樣的學習過程，很容易熟練語篇內容，學生是很喜歡的。
2009年南京外國語學校的初中招生英語能力測試，首篇Kiwi鳥是考到的閱讀內容之一、還有關於北極熊等常識的內容。不僅如此，近年的中考和高考的英語閱讀，很多素材都是選自原汁原味的英語文刊，這是很有益於學生的非常好的導向。
如何閱讀原版文章？內容第一！
這個和閱讀中文的故事書是一樣的。閱讀中文故事書、讀者看的也是內容、不可能是不停地查找其中的生字詞、分析詞句語法結構。
閱讀後有不懂的詞彙需要查閱的、學生自己可以查英文詞典。可以配備「牛津高階英漢雙解詞典」（最新版本）。

Once you train yourself to make your difficult article a part of your daily routine, you will even grow to enjoy it. Reading difficult articles is just like vigorous exercise. At first it is extremely hard, you need to push yourself to finish. Eventually, just as your body grows used to the sweat and effort, your mind will also adjust and welcome the challenge. In fact, people who exercise regularly feel terrible when they don't have an opportunity to exercise! You can develop the same kind of relationship with difficult articles! You can use them to nourish your mind and your spirit until you reach the point where you feel lost without them.

The poor are very wonderful people. One evening we went out and we picked up four people from the street. And one of them was in a most terrible condition，and I told the sisters: You take care of the other three. I take care of this one who looked worse. So I did for her all that my love can do. I put her in bed, and there was such a beautiful smile on her face. She took hold of my hand as she said just the words "thank you" and she died. I would have said I am hungry, that I am dying, I am cold, I am in pain, or something, but she gave me much more-she gave me her grateful love. And she died with a smile on her face. As did that man whom we picked up from the drain[陰溝、下水道], half eaten with worms, and we brought him to the home. "I have lived like an animal in the street, but I am going to die like an angel, loved and cared for." And it was so wonderful to see the greatness of that man who could speak like that, who could die like that without blaming anybody, without cursing anybody, without comparing anything. Like an angel-this is the greatness of our people. And that is why we believe what Jesus had said: I was hungry, I was naked, I was homeless, I was unwanted, unloved, uncared for, and you did it to me.

書蟲很好，多是精簡版的（縮減了一部分）名著。適合中學生看。而且還有中文對專照和單詞注釋。屬
每天聽錄音也很好。可能效果會比天天做題好很多。
如果有條件看去看原版的格列夫游記或者一些優秀的英文原著。一般越是經典的作品行文都很簡單精闢。能用簡單的詞就不會用復雜的詞，能用簡單的結構就不會用復雜的結構。但是文章卻能把意思表達的很明確清晰。
一步一步慢慢來，初中生可塑性還很大，正是學習的好時機。

就我個人意見來說《英語角》還是不錯的，內容有點像劇本，主要是通過人物之間的對話這種方式去提高口語（表達）能力的——每一篇東東都有列舉相關的句型句式並進行剖析，而且針對不同的對話背景有相關的背景介紹（文化）。中英對譯。難度不大，適合初中生閱讀（閱讀年齡：14～20歲）
《英語畫刊》（初一～初三）
針對不同水平的學生而量身定做。主要欄目有名著之窗、國際新聞、風雲人物、時文閱讀、五洲四海、卡通列車、文娛天地、體育之窗、我們的園地、英語作文、妙語如珠、你問我答、課測練習、學習指導、閱讀理解、科技縱橫、文化博覽、趣味小品、幽默與笑話等眾多欄目，並配有與英語教學同步的練習和中、高考復習資料。
《瘋狂英語中學版》我還是覺得難度稍微大了點，而且可讀性不太強（我買過一本，但覺得沒有興趣去看）
也不妨可以考慮一下報紙：《二十一世紀學生英文報》有初一～高三版，以閱讀材料為主，而且分為8個版面－主版（熱點），時事頻道，青春校園（講述校園故事），知識之窗（2版），輕松閱讀，英語加油站和文娛空間。最重要的是它的內容與課本內容完全無關，不像《英語周報》《英語輔導報》那樣，它旨在提高閱讀能力和詞句積累，而且有閱讀提示"teens點金」——包括中考詞彙、考點看台、拓展詞彙、真題演練等等，我覺得這個挺不錯，強烈推薦，訂了2年了..
