初三學生的閱讀能力培養尤其重要,閱讀能力的培養除了靠課本教材提供的語言材料外,還要靠大量閱讀各種課外讀物,加大培養初三學生的閱讀能力,對學生的學習和為今後打基礎都至關重要

首先,閱讀能力的提高,詞彙量是關健,作者列舉了歸類法、對比法、形象思維法來擴大學生英語詞彙量。第二,學習興趣對學生的學習持久及學習效果影響很大。只有養成了濃厚的閱讀興趣,才能長年累月地堅持下去,提高學生的閱讀能力。第三,科學的方法有助於閱讀能力的迅速提高。幫助學生逐漸掌握正確的,科學的方法,往往能得到事半功倍的效果。
閱讀能力的提高,詞彙量是關鍵,沒有相當量的英語詞彙,閱讀英語是無法進行的。因此在英語教學中我們可以用以下幾種方法幫助學生擴大詞彙。

1、 歸類法

初三學生學了幾年英語,掌握了一些詞彙,因此我們在教學新單詞時,可根據其用途、性質和類別,適當介紹一下它同類的詞彙,擴大學生的詞彙量。例如:在教人稱代詞時,把物主代詞、反身代詞歸為一類來復習。I的賓格是me,物主代詞是my和mine,反身代詞為myself。在教everywhere時,可把不定代詞一起歸類,every,none,some,everyone,someone等等。在教colour時,可以把顏色red,yellow,blown,green等歸類;又如把星期、月份、季節歸類。這樣能使學生在短時間內掌握大量詞彙。對一些常見短語和片語也可用歸類法。如have a good time, have a look, have a rest, have a swim等歸為一類教學。又如look after, look at, look like, look the same歸為一類。通過歸類,學生們能舉一反三,他們學習詞彙時,可迅速回憶起同類的詞彙的片語。

2、對比法

我們在教一個單詞時,可將它的同義詞、反義詞、形似詞和同形異義詞一起列舉出來進行簡單的對比講解,以豐富學生的詞彙。

例如反義詞,在教學lend時,可舉出borrow和keep,同時指出它們的不同用法。lend指「借出」,而borrow指「借進」,而表示借多久時用keep。教expensive時,可舉出cheep。教different,舉出same等。如此,可以比較forget(忘記)和remember(記得),husband(丈夫)和wife(妻子),hard(硬的)和soft(軟的),poor(窮的)和rich(富的),empty(空的)和full(滿的)等等。這樣學生既可以復習舊的詞彙,強化記憶,又可以舉一反三,擴大詞彙量。

3、形象思維法

這種方法主要用於片語教學,英語片語中約有三分之二以上是可以通過形象思維來記憶的。因此,我們每教一個片語時,可以啟發學生運用形象進行思考,識別每一個詞和片語。例如片語look for,其中look是「看」的意思for是「為了某一個目的」之意,合起來則是「尋找」的意思。look into表示「往裡面看」正是「研究,調查」的形象表示。look up to sb.指的是「抬頭仰望某人」,那當然是「敬仰某人」了。look down所呈現的景象是「眼睛往下瞧某人」那當然是「瞧不起人」的含義。look forward to形象表示「伸長脖子往前看」,那就是「盼望」了。類似的片語還有look over, look the same, look around等等。

激發學生的閱讀興趣

1、 閱讀材料的選擇

要培養學生閱讀興趣,選擇閱讀材料很重要。在初三教學中,我指導學生選擇難度適當,有趣的閱讀材料。難度適當有兩個好處:一是容易提高進度,二是容易培養興趣。難度較大,學生讀起來費勁、費時,易於半途而廢,信心減退了,興趣也就隨之減弱。難度過低,學生讀起來雖不費勁,但不能提高閱讀能力,收不到令人滿意的效果。

材料內容應該多樣化,故事、寓言、英雄人物傳記,淺易的科幻故事、歷史、地理知識,英語國家的風俗習慣、學生生活等,都是中學生喜歡的題材。這類閱讀材料,不僅能培養學生的閱讀能力,激發學生興趣,還能豐富他們的知識。

When I was a foreign teacher in China, every day I taught English to my students and they taught me about China. One day the topic turned to saying “I love you”. I was shocked to learn that not one of my students had said this to their mothers, nor had their mothers said it to them. “Does your mom love you?” “Of course,”they answered.

“How do you know ?”was my logical question. They responded that their mons cooked and always told them what they were doing wrong to show their caring. 隨著新課程改革的不斷深入,英語教學中也越來越重視對學生閱讀能力的培養。在教學實踐中,閱讀是英語綜合實力的表現,它集語法、詞彙、速度、准確度、思維和背景文化等於一身,是學生提高英語學習效率的一種實踐過程,更是英語教學的重要組成部分。學生進入初三,閱讀理解能力在英語教學中佔有更加重要的地位,閱讀能力的培養成為英語教學的重中之重。英語閱讀教學的主要目的是教給學生正確的閱讀方法、閱讀技巧、培養學生的閱讀能力,是吸收英語語言材料、增加語言知識、擴大詞彙量的重要手段,而且閱讀能力的提高能為英語口語交際能力和英語寫作能力打下良好的基礎,也為學生從英語閱讀中認識學習英語的真正意義和價值,體驗學習英語的樂趣,為學生樹立學好英語的自信心打下堅實的基礎。綜觀歷年的考試題型,閱讀理解都是重頭戲,在各級各類考試中都佔有很大的比值。

下面我就自己在日常教學中對閱讀教學的具體做法談幾點體會。
一、 教會學生快速閱讀的方法。

為了加強限時間閱讀訓練,提高閱讀速度,可讓學生學會讀、學會瀏覽、學會默讀,從而連貫閱讀,學會悟意。

在閱讀教學中,我們要從一開始就指導學生不要從頭至尾一字不漏地讀下去,而要採用跳躍式的閱讀方法。用英語表達就是(Don』t read word by word, read word groups),在閱讀過程中善於抓住文章中的關鍵詞句和主題句,不要鑽在文章的某些細節里,否則會影響全文大意的掌握。也不要無目的、無重點地閱讀,而是要有目的、有選擇地快速瀏覽。在瀏覽過程中,要有意識地尋找所有需要的信息。要學會默讀,不出聲地閱讀可避免發音器官處於緊張工作的狀態,以便集中精力理解文章的中心內容,加快閱讀速度。它比有聲閱讀的讀速快得多,還可以避免有聲或無聲朗讀給人帶來疲勞而影響注意力。此外,不要因個別生詞而停頓或去查詞典,而是通過文章的上下文或者構詞等方法快速猜測出該詞的意思,從而更快地了解文章的內容,加快閱讀速度。通過上述閱讀教學方法的訓練,學生的閱讀能力就會有明顯提高。

二、 讓學生養成良好的解題習慣。

在閱讀文章的基礎上,我們要引導學生快速閱讀問題,並帶著問題重新閱讀文章,再次閱讀那些沒有答出的問題。必要的時候可以用筆將有用的信息標出來,這樣可以節省尋找答案的時間。

三、 要有緊迫的時間觀念。

閱讀開始就要集中精力,不能鬆鬆垮垮,看多少算多少,看到哪裡算哪裡,這樣閱讀的話,效果就不太明顯,也是不可取的。對此,我們一定要強調閱讀的時間觀念。

另外,在閱讀教學中,我們一定要以自己正確的語音、語調作示範,同時要充分利用錄音磁帶所提供的標准地道的英語做示範,指導學生多聽、多模仿,以便更有效地做好閱讀。

總之,在閱讀教學中,盡可能地給學生呈現豐富的、有趣的閱讀材料,加強學生的語言輸入量,按照有關教學大綱的要求,遵循中學生閱讀能力的提高是一個長期的,循序漸進的過程,切忌操之過急。興趣是動力,養成良好的閱讀習慣是前提,必要的閱讀技巧指導是關鍵,適量的課外補充是必需。所以,要想提高學生的閱讀 理解能力,我們必須培養學生的閱讀習慣,使他們掌握一定的閱讀技巧,並結合課內外的閱讀訓練實踐,認真分析學生閱讀英語文章中存在的問題,根據不同的情況,採用不同的教學方法,才能使學生對英語閱讀學習感興趣,才能有法可循有樣可學,積極學習,不斷培養和提高學生的英語閱讀能力。
