In one way, it may be thought that failure is a part of life. In another, failure may be regarded as a step towards success.
The 「spider-story」 is often told as an example of this. Robert Bruce, leader of the Scots in the 13th century, was hiding in a hole on a hill from the English. He watched a spider (蜘蛛) making a web. Bruce is said to have got confidence from this and to have gone on to beat the English. Edison, too, the inventor of the light bulb (電燈泡), made hundreds of models that failed before he found the right way to make one.
So what? First, always think about your failure. What caused it? Were you in high spirit then? What can you change so that things will go right the next time?
Second, is the goal (目標) you are trying to reach the right one? Try to do some thinking about what your real goals may be. Think about this question: 「If I am successful in this, where will it get me?」 This may help to prevent failure in the things you shouldn』t be doing anyway
The third thing to remember about failure is that it』s a part of life. Learn to 「live with yourself」 even though you may have failed. Remember, 「You can』t win them all.」
60. Robert Bruce was mentioned in the passage to show that .
A. people who fail are not lonely
B. animals can help people sometimes
C. nature will help us if we are hard-working
D. confidence is important for one to be successful
61. Edison』s example shows us that .
A. he liked to do other kinds of work
B. he invented many kinds of light bulbs
C. failure may be a way towards success
D. he was a man of many important inventions
62. If you are not sure about what success will get you, you』d better .
A. change your goal B. go on with your goal
C. not care for that D. work even harder on your goal
63. It can be learned from the passage that .
A. one should try not to fail
B. one』s failure is another』s success
C. one should take failure seriously
D. one should learn lessons from failure
64. This passage is mainly about .

Tigers are fierce animals. They are the bosses of the Asian jungles with their cleverness, quickness and strength. A pussycat, on the other hand, is a homebody that comforts us with its gentle warmth and calms us with its purring.
As a mother, the Chinese-American writer Amy Chua is definitely a tiger. Her book, Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother(虎媽戰歌) . tells of the strict upbringing she gave her two children. She thinks that being strict is the only way to develop a child's potential(潛力) and to make them strong, independent and successful. Her kids were not allowed to watch TV or play video
games. They were not allowed to "hang out" with other kids after school. They ha
d to be the top students in their classes. And they had to practice the piano
and violin for hours every day. As a result, her kids became successful. She admits this caused a lot of tears and anger but she has few regrets (後悔).

The First Job
For college students, when graation season comes, it is time for them to leave campus and find their own place in the world. But according to the report, most students lost jobs in the first year, though there are still a lot of chances. College students refuse the chances and wait for the better one.
The first job matters so much, it can make students find the sense of belonging, so don’t be picky for the first job. Most students believe that they deserve the job with high salary and potential development. While the fact is that the competition is so fierced and you have to compete with a lot of excellent students, only a few can get the chance. So it is better to find a job and gain the experience.
The location is also the important factor to consider. I think it is a good choice to work in the city that is near our home, so that we can go home often and spend more time with our parents. When we have job problem, we can come to our family for help.
So don’t be picky for the first job, when we have experience, we can make our own choice.

Why Girls Work So Hard
In the old days, it was men’s job to raise the family and the women should stay at home to deal with all kinds of chores. But in the modern society, women desire to go out of the house and find their places in the world. They work so hard to fulfill their value.
In the traditional view, girls will marry someday and then they will focus on the family, so there is no need for them to work so hard. But it is totally wrong for the girls. No matter which stage they are in, they need to work hard to keep their economic source. As the saying that no money, no talk, so the girls can say out their thoughts loudly in the family instead of feeling shameful to fight for their rights.
Whether girls marry or not, working can help them keep in pace with the time. The working surrounding not only can distract their pressure in the family, but also can broaden their vision. The colleagues can talk to them and relieve their negative emotion. Working can make a girl charming.
