Nowadays, many primary schools give English courses from the first grade. It is commonly believed that the earlier children begin to study a foreign language, the better they can master it, so the English class in primary schools is necessary. What's more, studies show that schoolchildren are more likely to cultivate an interest and love in English learning rather than to study it as a boring task.
But others take a negative attitude. They don't think language study in early age could foster the top language master. On the contrary, if children begin to study English too early, their study of Chinese would be interfered, and the result is that both their mother tongue and English would be poor. The booming tourist trade has brought about mass exchange of population between different nations. At first glance, this bridges the understanding and communication between different cultures. In my opinion, however, this fast-growing instry has proced tension between people from different cultural background.
The first barrier for curious tourists from all over the world is the problem of language. The most attractive destinations of tourism are, ironically, less developed areas where the world language --- English, has not been prevalent. Therefore, the direct contact between tourists and local residents has been cut down. The tour guide, normally interpreter too, becomes the only link of communication. But unfortunately, as indicated in any guide-training handbook, the responsibility of a tour guide is to arouse the tourists』 interest and passion rather than present a lecture on cultural difference. 三、 寫作的「七項基本原則」
1、 長短句原則
工作還得一張一馳呢，老讓讀者讀長句，累死人！寫一個短小精闢的句子，相反，卻可以起到畫龍點睛的作用。而且如果我們把短句放在段首或者段末，也可以揭示主題：

In recent years, more and more lectures are being given on campus. They are organized either by the departments or by the students unions with an aim to improve the students quality both mentally and academically. These lectures are usually in series and on different topics, such as arts, life, economy, psychology and world issues.
Generally speaking, the advantages of good lectures are various. First they broaden the students knowledge horizon and cultivate interest in different fields. Second, they make the life of the students colorful and enjoyable.
With these merits, lectures are just complementary and subordinate to our school work. If students spend too much time attending lectures, their regular study will be affected and disturbed. So, in my opinion, the students should, on the one hand, do their class work and homework well first, on the other hand, set as more time as possible to attend good lectures which are helpful to our life and study.
