現在在人才市場上招人的單位很多，對人才的需求量很大。目前國內每年新增800多萬個就業崗位，每年200多萬大學畢業生找工作應該不是一件困難的事情。現在用人單位招聘，很少會要求必須是某名牌大學，具有什麼樣的學歷，他們更在乎的是招進來能不能立刻開始工作。畢業生在找工作之前要充分認識自己，我是個什麼樣的人，適合做什麼樣的工作。有的人對地域看重一些，就在薪水等方面的要求降低一些；有的人想在事業上有大的作為，可以先到蘇北等急需人才的地方去創業，好工作是相對的，不可能樣樣都好。
用人單位最看重大學生什麼

能力方面，首先是口頭表達和文字書寫能力，推薦材料寫得怎麼樣，幾句話要講清楚。性格比較內向的學生現在就要開始練習多講話，要敢講，有東西講，要讓別人接受。此外，還有溝通能力，獲取知識、應用知識的能力，獲取信息、處理信息的能力。
最後是知識，大學4年基本上學的是專業知識，但是在實際工作中需要多種知識。在人才需求排行榜上營銷人員一直高居榜首，但是企業不願意要專門學營銷的文科生，而是要有專業背景。比如從事醫葯營銷工作，僅憑一點葯學知識是遠遠不夠的，還要有一定的經濟和會計學基礎，這種復合型人才的需求量是很大的。在校生要調整思路，不是平時學習成績好就能找到好工作，學校里有活動從來不去，有跨學科的講座從來不聽，身邊諸如打掃衛生這樣的小事從來不屑於做，這樣是不行的。
現在很多企業尤其是外國公司在要人的時候，經常注意求職者是否做過學生幹部，有沒有組織能力，願不願為社會公益事業做志願者。這些其實都是在考察人際關系和組織協調的能力。
如何投送簡歷
現在有很多人指責用人單位亂扔求職者的個人簡歷，當然這種做法是不好的，但也反映出一個問題，為什麼用人單位對個人簡歷不太重視？主要是雷同太多，你把簡歷做得再精美，但裡面的內容都是大同小異，看不出你這個人有什麼過人之處，也就無從挑選。單位最希望在短時間內對求職者有一個基本了解。曾經有一個公司到南大招聘，最後碩士、本科都不要，偏偏選中一個大專生，原來這個大專生很簡單但也很巧妙地把自己主要成績用阿拉伯數字概括出來，比如說獲得一次獎學金、兩次當選班幹部、三篇文章發表、通過英語四級，用人單位一看就覺得這個人思路清晰，求職者也不用連篇累牘，節省了很多開支。
