① dog days是什麼意思啊
「dog days」的意思是「 三伏天、炎暑」。
16世紀羅馬天文學家發現每年天氣最炎熱的這幾個星期，天狼星（Sirius）總與太陽共升共落，而天狼星的別號就是the Dog Star。
在拉丁文中人們用代表帶雀喊狗的詞蠢野根「can」來表示天狼星「canicular」。所以這段酷熱期就被稱為dies caniculars（天狼星的日子），英語寫成了canicular days，民間用了更通俗的說法，就是dog days。
