Time flies, our program ended. I am honored to give a speech here for the class of middle school teachers. First of all, we want to say thanks to Changshu Ecational Bureau and Teachers』 Training School to give us this great chance to improve our English and to learn new ideas and skills of teaching .We also want to thank all the hard-working American teachers Gina ,Jenny ,John, and our head teacher—Tina. Being together with all of these members made these days more meaningful to us.

During these days, we have learnt a lot from the foreign teachers .They used their rich teaching experience to teach us how to do many diverting activities . They showed us how to make teaching goals, teach new vocabularies , design and play interesting games. They also introced a lot of festivals in their country and celebrated them with us. Everyone of us enjoyed their lessons very much ,and also gained a lot.

『To teach a language , not a textbook.』 that』s the teaching principle of the foreign teachers. But in comparison of our own teaching, when we teach students English , we always pay more attention on the marks they get , not how to use the language .So from now on ,we will use what we have leant from them to give our children happier and more exciting classes.

In their classes, we felt happy and relaxed. We never felt bored .we learnt that teaching a language can be more interesting than we ever thought.

For example, when we were having listening lessons , we listened to some songs to practice our listening skills. Gina and Jenny used these ways to teach us : first they introced the name of a song , told us to think of some words about this song and write down the lyrics while listening , cut the lyrics into small pieces and put them in the right order while listening ,then we would see which team won the first .All the songs we listened were related to our daily life ,so we became interested in it . We think it is much more interesting than just doing the exercise on the textbook while listening.

In Jenny』s class, Jenny's mother and her aunt came to our classroom as nurse and doctor , we acted as patients. We had almost a real experience in American hospital. It can help us understand a dialogue easily , represent the dialogue vividly,and it raised everyone 's enthusiasm to speak English actively.

This program ,though short, helps us to see that, as an English teacher, we are not completely qualified, still need further improvements in many aspects, we will make great effort to study continuously. It』s never TOO OLD TO LEARN.

Our natural resources will last longer if we learn to recycie them. The world population will not rise so quickly if people use modern methods of birth control.
