一、糾正課堂提問的偏差
愛因斯坦說過:「提出一個問題比解決一個問題更為重要。」課堂提問教學的成功與否,對於教學往往有著重要的影響,長期以來,一些初中英語教師對課堂提問缺乏必要的思考和研究,還存在一定的偏差,這些偏差需要及時糾正。
1、糾正無義偏差
課堂提問的問題要有明確的目的和指向,才可稱得為「有意義」問題。但是,在平時的課堂教學中,存在著很多與之相反的「無義」問題,提一些與課堂教學目標無聯系的問題,或者提一些走過場並且浪費時間的無效問題,造成教學不嚴密。如:
(1)Are you a student?
(3)Who is your English teacher?
以上例子反映出無義問題的一般特徵:問題回答與教學目標和主題關聯不密切,所提問題可能誤導學生脫離所學內容,或者只對活躍氣氛產生效果,與本課內容無實質聯系。
2、糾正低效偏差
目前的英語課堂提問內容,反映出提問實效過低的現象。特徵表現為提問內容與所學內容無實質聯系,只是為了提問而提問,在實際教學中,為了讓課堂呈現出「繁榮」的景象,往往只需在「Yes」,或「No」, 「Right」,或「Wrong」, 「True」或「False」等肯定或否定的兩極范圍內選擇。這些提問內容上的偏差,使得看似熱鬧的提問失去了原有的效果,喪失了課堂提問教學的有效性,提問的主題偏離了教學內容,學生的語言能力達不到任何的訓練和提高,這對於學生的發展是不利的。
二、提高課堂提問內容的認知策略
有效教學是在學生「想學」的基礎上展開的,教師要十分注意激發學生的學習動機。為了切實提高提問教學的有效性,使教師以盡可能少的時間、精力投入,取得盡可能好、盡可能多的教學效果,務必在課堂教學中明確提問的目標性,注重提問的藝術性,突出提問的主體性。
1、明確目標性
教學目標是教學活動的出發點和歸宿,它支配、控制和調節著整個教學過程。任何教學活動都要圍繞某個教學目標展開,提問教學的目標,筆者以為,主要是能啟發學生思維,激發學生興趣和促進學生發展。
教師的提問,應富有啟發性,因為課堂提問本身不是目的,而是啟發學生思維的手段。教師要善於提一些學生在所學內容中找不到現成答案,而又與所學內容關系十分密切的問題,讓學生「跳一跳,才能摘到果子」,以利於激發學生的思考和求知慾,促進學生思維的發展,引起學生的探索活動,並在探索活動中培養創造力。例如,在講授《牛津初中英語》 7A Unit3 Let』s celebrate 中的 Reading時,在課文學習之後,巧妙的通過兩個開放式的提問:①.How do we Chinese celebrate Mid-autumn festival? ②.What are the differences between Halloween and Mid-autumn festival?讓學生在討論中各抒其見,分析比較得出結論,從而加深了對課文的理解。這樣還能激發學生興趣,愛因斯坦曾經說過,「興趣是最好的老師」。因此,教師的提問要能激發學生的興趣,使他們有了學習的原動力,就能提高他們的學習熱情。為此,教師必須從教材和學生心理特點出發,引人入勝地提出富有趣味性、啟發性的問題,用科學、藝術、生動的語言,吸引學生去積極思維。
2、注重藝術性
提問是一種教學手段,更是一項藝術活動。前蘇聯教育家蘇霍母林斯基說過,「學生的注意力就像一隻極易受驚的小鳥,當你走近時,它馬上會飛走;當你抓住它並把它關起來時,以後就別想再聽優美的歌喉。」因此,教師提問時,要十分注重方法和技巧,以強化學生的認知。
在課堂提問時,要盡量照顧到多數學生,兼顧少數學生,有時可採用多題聯系提問法,就是先提出一個問題,然後讓座位前後、左右順序回答,使每個學生都有練習機會,例如,在講解《牛津初中英語》7A Unit6 Fashion單元時,討論What』s your favorite fashion?讓學生按順序回答,使每個學生都能表達一下自己的見解,而對於基礎較好的學生可進一步問「Why?」
學生對問題做出正確的回答,即使是很小的進步,教師都應當給予肯定、贊揚,這樣對增強學生答題的積極性和自信心非常有益。學生對問題做出錯誤的回答,教師應立即糾正,糾正速度越快,越有效。例如,對於回答得好的學生,可以用「Well done!」「Very good!」「You did a good job!」等鼓勵學生再接再厲。對於回答不出或回答錯誤的學生,可以用「It doesn't matter.」 「I hope you
