I Love Summer【我喜愛夏天】

It is true that summer is hot, very hot. But the wicked summer sun is nothing to me, for I don't usually go out. My First Time at the English Corner
It was a beautiful Sunday. Our teacher told us that there would be an English Corner near the gate of the People』s Park. I started off soon after breakfast.
It was already 9:20 when I got there. To my joy, the English Corner had just been on for a few minutes. Oh, what a big crowd! The day was unforgettable. Though today we speak only in simple English, we all believe that tomorrow we will make greater progress in English.

This morning I got up early and went to the market to buy some vegetables instead my mother for the first time.

I make it a rule to read the newspaper every day. As a student, I have no time to watch news programs on TV. Besides, watching television takes up a lot of time. Consequently, reading the newspaper becomes the only way for me to learn about what's happening around the world.

There is an old Chinese saying: "A scholar need not leave his home to know what's going on in the world." While newspapers do not carry the latest, up-to-the minute world news, they give us a great deal of useful knowledge.
