How to introce a new friend to your already existing friend?
I live in a housing cooperative with lots of people. New people are always coming over to the house. So this inevitably leads to the classic case of "barrage your guest friend with one million names and hope they remember."
My newest strategy has seemed to be well received by my friends and it goes a little like this:
Hey, my friend Bob is dropping over for dinner. Now I have to introce him to 15 people.
I start by introcing Bob to the group as a whole. Something like "hey friends, this is my new friend Bob and he is here to replace you."
I then tell Bob one fun (non-embarrassing) fact about each person and say the person's name. Something like "Bob, this is Jim. Jim's favorite animal is the Amazonian River Otter."
I have found that this accomplishes two things: Bob has a better chance at remembering names and it is a non-threatening way to introce new friends to an existing friend group. If your friend is brave they may also want to say a fun fact.
