阿甘如同一个战士，以他貌似简单，实则更为简单的头脑和特殊的才能以及强大的体魄为武器，一次又一次地赢得了生存和发展。这是一种对上帝奖励善良的希望，同时，它更包含了一种基调：向前，跑。有人说，这样奔跑会给人带来希望。事实上，希望确实存在，这部独特的影片赢得了如此众多的观众，吸引了甚至只喜欢轻松的娱乐片的观众，便说明了希望本身和希望的魁力。
